promising concept, but I'd like to see what they mean with relocating the ACC sensor to above the winch. To where? In front of the grill? That would look crappy.
But great to see people working on solutions! I bookmarked their site to check back. Prices seem pretty decent, not outlandish like some I've seen so far.

Also nice that they are local to me.
I think ACC sensor relocation is typically behind the grille on Raptors. Guess we'll find out whether or not it works on the Bronco

I want to see someone test it with Lux package and report on how intercooler is working and how Adaptive cruise and front camera are working.

In my Raptor I've been complain since I got it that it should have 2 senors as it does not detect a car until its close to middle or nose. Seems 2 sensors on each side would detect a merging car much sooner.

I'm old enough that having to do your own research into things was mandatory, it seems as a society the objective is now to spoon feed everyone and strongly discourage self-reliance. Hey, we'll see how that works out in the long run!
and there I go, thinking you'd never let us down...
Oh Rick, how deep you have fallen~~

Interested to see front license plate locations on these new front bumpers. I most definitely don't want to locate the front license plate where the factory suggests it should be.

Reduction of effort wasn't the goal. Possibly having somebody take the initiative for themselves to do a modicum of research to self-educate was the goal.

Ok Boomer.

Wait till old school guys like me are not in the workforce anymore "customer service" will no longer be in the playbook. ;)
You act like older people are better at customer service. From my experience they’re cranky and rude much more often. I’ve worked customer service for over 10 years.

Looks really nice and clean.

Interested to hear pricing and more detail about location of ACC and parking sensor relocation process as a member of team LUX.

Assume it’d be possible to order without yellow logo on front.

Thanks!

If you relocate ACC and parking sensors, wouldn't you have to reprogram them for the new location? Who would do that for you?

I am sure that there is a way to recalibrate them. It might require a trip to the dealer, but I am willing to bet that there will be other options in the future.

Customer service is useless 99% of the time and getting an older person typically results in the employee more interested in giving a crappy attitude when a simple question is asked. Usually find the younger crowd is not only more helpful but also more patient. Not a cover all but most situations I find myself in that’s the case.

cross post from Facebook. Not affiliated in any way, just sharing the news

Got the Bay Area Metal Fabrication recessed winch mount bumper all buttoned up late last night. We raised the winch, moved the solenoid from the top to bring it up. Hugged the front of the grille as tight as possible with the winch mounted in front of the frame. It's a total of 6.75" off the front of the frame rails.
The venting to allow air flow to the intercooler are 5052 aluminum and removable/customizeable. This bumper is built to beat. The winch plate and mounting is constructed out of .250" plate. All the outer shell is .188" thick. The tubes are 1.75" x.120 wall DOM The recovery points are in plain with the frame and laser cut from .750" Swiss SSAB plate tumbled for 16 hours to soften the edges and welded through the bumper for safe recoveries. This bumper is not made for the mall its about 80lbs to 90lbs without the winch height TBD.
Relocating the ACC sensor to above the winch will be required. Parking sensors locations will also be available for those that have it.

Very nice job - thank you for providing profile pictures ... my only complaint would be the prominence of the logo, but you have a right to be proud and I have the right to use my cordless drill. Best regards.

I currently have Bay Area Metal Fab’s front bumper, skid plates, rock sliders and behind the grill light bar mounts on my Tacoma. Their fit and finish is bar none and as their name suggests, is pure bad ass beef! I love the convenience of being able to jack my truck up directly from the skid plates, front bumper and rock sliders. Their parts don’t budge an inch under the weight of my 5,000lb+ truck. Whenever my Bronco finally shows up, BAMF will be the first fab shop I’ll be considering when looking for armor. An added bonus is looking like a boss to your neighbors when the 18 wheeler shows up in front of your house to unload your fancy new fabbed armor lol.

I work in auto parts/accessories, but not for a national chain. 18 stores, for more than 20 years and before that I was in the construction industry. I get calls all the time asking for specific parts that require some digging and some leg work to acquire.

Short version goes............

Yep, I can get that part

Your other store said they couldn't

Well they didn't look hard enough because I found it

I made the sale most times and earned a customer as a result of ........customer service.

NOT just saying nope I don't have it because I don't want to put the effort into finding it.

May sound crazy to you guys but it happens to me when I go to the big box hardware store and try to find something.

I need one of these

NOPE don't have it

That's odd this is very common piece I thought it would be available everywhere.

Without even looking away from his phone .....

NOPE don't have it

I drive a half a mile away to a small chain hardware store and ask THE OLD TIMER for the same part.

YEP got 4 of them right here.

See a trend yet ??????????

I work with a guy whos has been working for the company as long as I have. I hear him say ALL the time on the phone......

NOPE DON'T HAVE IT.

Sometimes I catch him before he hangs up and ask him what the guy wants You guessed it

YEP got that right here .... what size.

The the guy will say to me .... Sorry I didn't think we had it here.

My reply Is if you would put forth the effort you would sell more. His reply is so what it was a 5 dollar part not like it was wheels and tires. I reply it's 5 bucks more than you would have had without the sale. Just shrugs his shoulders and goes right back where...... IN HIS F %^&IN PHONE.

Sorry if this is coming off as rant, not my intention, but maybe where you guys are it's not a problem but around here it is EVERYWHERE !!!! Finding knowledgeable people willing to put forth an effort to help you are slim to none. Like what Rick Rolled said earlier ...... I figure it out for myself first so I can find what I need myself and get back to the task at hand.

I could go on with more examples but I believe I have bored you enough and besides this is to be a thread about a bumper.

😁🍻

It seems to be the most sucked-in winch capable bumper we have seen. And I like the tubing on the ends, offers a unique look. I do question how well those vents are going to work with a winch right behind them and that is up against (or at least really close) to the intercooler.
The location of the front anchor points so close to the vent hole makes me wonder if it will bend outward given a heavy load? Upon closer inspection there appears to be a bracket inside the bumper directly behind the pull ring which should take the load. Nice thinking!

Don’t shoot the questioner. I’m curious how it could be done as the OP suggested was the case. Assume it would have to go higher behind grill and effectiveness would not be adversely impacted by relocation effort - but what do I know?

I also assume parking sensors just need a hole to be drilled and to be mounted in place. It is only measuring distance from impact, so I would think that works.

What makes you think they’d need to be recalibrated?

Customer service spans almost every industry in the world. Basing your views off of your own anecdotal experiences is a flawed way of doing things. I’ll end it here though since as you said, this is way off topic.
