Hello all. Was hoping to get a Christmas present for my wife. She just wanted "beauty rings" for her Hot Pepper Red 2D Wildtrax. LabNA is a great company to contact, order, do business with and they advertise perfect color matches. HPR is tricky apparently - went through two sets - too orangey, too coppery. Although LabNA was great to deal with regarding repaint, send/return/credit accounts, speed of delivery, etc., they admitted they just weren't at the stage to do HPR. If anyone is interested in other colors, they are probably the vendor to use. The powder coating is superior; gloss and coverage is the best. I offered silver to my wife to jazz up the all-black look of the 35's and wheels. She declined. Super company, super customer service, just couldn't get our color right. Highly recommend for other colors.

I once had a conversation with someone who developed a paint matched product for the bronco and he looked up the actual color codes for the paint. Apparently there are two different shades and color codes, depending if the exterior paint match is for the upper part of the body or the lower part of body

A good example of this is on my cyber Orange bronco the plastic trim pieces in the lower rear corner near the rear fenders is a different shade of cyber orange than the rest of the body and in some light, you can actually see it and in other light, you can’t

He explained to me this is because light hits the lower part of the vehicle differently and color is our perception of the reflection of the light that hits an object

It makes sense to me.

Yes, different lighting makes a difference. We took pictures inside/outside/lights on/off. Just an additional update from LabNA - they report two different codes by Prismatic that they use and the results we got weren't right. LabNA is still working on it for us. Appreciate this company for sure.

Man, I knew that HPR was a special color! :)

Hard to match and all, it's awesome to look at. Can't understand why it's so rare. Was on my list if I didn't go with green once I moved on from Area 51.

Hope you guys find a nice alternative.

Never heard of such a thing... Granted Im no painter but I work in auto service and have many paint and body friends and have had many things painted over the years... What I do know is metal and plastic panels dont always match hence why the smaller panels look like a different shade. Another thing is some of these colors like HPR are tri coat, base color clear. If the base coat isnt the same itll make a difference as well.

That is the exact color I used on my trim rings, rear bumper trim and tow shackles.

Lighting. This Sienfeld clip helps understand HPR, lol.
