Easy upgrade for those that like to see what’s going on under the bronco.

Why you ask? I like to see in real time my under lines, wheel angle, suspension load/angle, split high spots, which tire is slipping/lifted and anything falling off the truck or dragging.

Looked at a lot of kits. Settled on this wireless one. Screen and camera quality are really good. It comes with 2 cameras and is capable of supporting 4. Can we say rear trailer view?
Also supports a memory card for full hd recording. Has all the mirror flip options, supports split view.

Unit

$199.99
Additional cams

$99.99

Hook up is straight forward. They have 2 wires. Pos and neg. That’s it. Camera stream connection is wireless and damn near instant. Refresh rate is great, no blur. They have sufficient ir lights to see everything underneath at night.

I first mounted the screen above my lifter switched. Unit fits perfect in that spot. I just used 4 short screws to mount it

Then I tested and picked out 2 semi protected spots for the belly cams. Higher than the skids but can still see the wheels. I did hit 2 known spots at holly for dragging the belly. Cameras never hit, but did drag the mid skid and tank skid.

I mounted the brackets with a single self taper. That way the screw head should snap off before the camera get damaged. I used a 5/32 bit to pre drill the cross bars. Front bar you have to stay in the bottom 1” where my finger is. Above that, it’s doubled. Metal is thick but soft.

Rear cam facing forward is the same 5/32 pre drill with 1 self taper. This metal is a lot thinner. No restriction for hole location on this one.

I ran the wires through the frame on the drivers side then into the engine bay and hooked the cameras into my grill and visor backlights on a lifter.

This setup performed above my initial expectations for quality, blurring, and not getting hit. If you wheel alone like I do most the time, this is a very worthwhile upgrade. Specially adding in 2 more cameras for trailers. Can do a inside and rear. Leave them attached. When you hook up to the trailer, they will auto connect.

I really like this idea, ordered this unit today.
2 questions about your install
1) The short screws to mount the display to the area above the aux switches, is there anything
behind those screws that I need to worry about a particular screw location or is it pretty open?
2) For Powering the display, did you just tie into the prerun aux wire behind the pillar trim or other?
Thanks for sharing this, cool idea, looking forward to getting it installed when it arrives.

For display power I came down the passenger side and T tapped the orange wire under the passenger sil gaurd. I’ll grab a pic if it tomorrow in the light. It’s on the acc switch and runs all the way to the back pass taillight. The camera power I tapped off one of my running lights off the lifter switch. I have 4 wires running around the top of the window and down the passenger pillar. Real easy path to hide wires. I’ll take a pic of that for you too. Only pieces you need to take off are the sil plate and the passenger kick panel.

Whole setup could be done off a lifter if you wanted too.

For the screws I didn’t check behind it. Ran a small drill bit. Once it broke thru I stopped and wiggled the bit around inside. Never felt anything inside, that was all 4 holes. Then just ran 1/2” screws by hand.

It did come in handy over the weekend for gauging clearance for others on some rutted trails. Unfortunately 2 door clearance varies from 4 door with the wheel base. I was able to clear a lot of holes with the front tires being able to see the inside of them and helped me line them up for the rears. I will admit. I spent most my time looking at that screen at low speed over the front cam. Plus it records so you can go back and analyze your ride if you wanted to see what you could have done better.

1500 mile update. Have only had to wipe the camera lenses twice. Both times I could still see, just looked cloudy. It's been in the rain, snow, and mud, everything seems to miss the cameras. Have had zero connectivity issues.

Cool idea! I happen to have one of these sitting in a box somewhere in my garage. Bought it for my 5th wheel a couple years ago, but never installed it. I may be looking for it today :)

Great idea on the cameras!

What mirror cam is that and does it have options to view multiple cameras? Could be an idea to get one of those as the monitor if it can do 2+ cameras and have 1-2 then mounted underneath...

I have those two underneath like op, also a third up front below my RC High mount winch. I think I am going to buy a 4th and mount it to the spare, be kind of nice to see behind me when I have the top down. This system really works well!!

I thought that at first. Way nicer with its own screen. Can run the bronco’s cameras on the 12”.

I think if you can find a camera system with video output, then you can wire it to naviks camera/video module, and finally enable video in motion.
