Maxxis Razr M/T: Voids so big I can put my finger in, but rides surprising smoothly (for an M/T). Plus it's pretty awesome off road. 😁 (They also have an A/T.)

You probably want to describe what you're wanting it for (road only, rock crawling, mud, snow/three peak, etc.). There's a lot of options and things to consider.

Best tire to do.... what exactly? Dial in your goals / objectives. Are you looking for best mileage? Best road manners / handling? Best in mud? Best in rocks/scree? Best on snow / ice?

“Best” is so subjective …. What’s your use/conditions?? Then you can start analyzing which tires are candidates …

So you're saying Maxxis makes a bunch of tires that are rebranded and sold by other manufacturers as their own? 🤔
I always knew them as a cheap Taiwanese brand tire manufactured abroad. I’m sure there’s good experiences from some, but it wouldn’t get me to put them on my truck.

Had a set on my old Jeep and great tires if you re really using them for a true 4x4 , off-road. Good value.
If you re mostly highway and city use may or may not be your top choice. Mine weren’t pampered and held up fine.

On my SAS Badlands I switched to 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers for the stone throwing issue. I've got a gravel driveway. At 20k now and more than happy.

There's a lot of people that like the stock GY SAS tires - they are very light weight and seem to do well with traction in most conditions. They don't have the best sidewalls, and throwing rocks is a common issue. But they do have a lot of happy users.

Most common after that that I see around where I live

BFG KO2s - now upgraded to KO3s
Falken Wildpeak AT/3W - now "upgraded" to AT/4W

These two are far and away the most common - if I see a truck on 33" or bigger tires, good odds it's running one of these two. Doesn't mean they are the "best" tire, just what I see an awful lot of.

Less Common, but still see them around
Toyo Open Country
General Grabbers
Mickey Thompson Baja Boss
Nitto Grapplers
Yokohama Geolander
Cooper Discoverer
Nokian Outpost

And that list is certainly not exhaustive. Just what I see around where I live that I recognize - which has a good mix of rock, dirt, snow, mud, and sand. Some of these are OEM Factory tires, which may be why I see a good bit of them. We don't have a lot of Broncos around here - most are still on their first set of tires, but for the Jeeps/Tacomas, there are tons, and they are almost always running KO2s or Wildpeaks.
