I thought there was a high possibility of user error on my part. But this is the underside that latches above the rear mirror.

That looks like the mesh Bimini and not the canvas. Regardless, you can see it also has the hole on the opposite side of the roll bar pod. So looks like you are good to go and this is a mystery hole.

You can order the canvas top off the B&P page when specking out a Bronco. I ordered the soft canvas top for my two door BL. The BL arrived but the top has not. It is listed as a dealer install option on the WS.
