Yes next to the latch is a handle pull down on the handle when releasing the latch and it will release

In your video to the right of the latch see how it goes down stick your hand in there and pull down then release the latch then stop pulling down on it

This does not work. The j hook will not come out there is no mechanism for it to release

As u pull down the latch, tug downward on it to drop the header slightly. Then continue to apply downward pressure as you swing it upward

This is exactly correct. Mine does the same thing if I don't pull it down.

BesTop has a secondary latch you can't see? Even less inclined to purchase now than I was.

By pulling down?
to complex to really explain.

Basically either bestop constructed a clever anti child device or its the worst designed latch ever made.

You have to let the latch slam itself open under its mechanical momentum while pulling down on the roof and it pops open. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt
