It sounds like what you all really want...is a soft top.
Couldn't be more wrong. The endcap is a pain to remove alone if swapping between the 2 and protects all the equipment in the trunk. The rear windows on the soft top also look terrible and the flip up glass is a much easier way of accessing cargo vs the weird prop rod. Also if you have to store the hard top pieces the front and mid panels are super easy vs the super bulky rear cap.

I'll probably get that full top for the 2dr, but can you imagine being held up on dirt mountain for a top that gets swapped out right away anyway?

The Bimini mesh top is the best accessory I’ve bought so far, of many. You can keep it in permanently under the hardtop or the soft top. If you plan on taking the top off for any significant amount of time in a particularly sunny place like the beach or desert, you’re going to want it. It’s definitely one of the main ‘wow’ factor items for strangers; it looks great in person and gives the interior a nice hue.

What I’m curious to know, after watching TFLs video on the Bestop installation, is how much of the extra parts would need to be removed in order to put the hardtop back on. I know it wouldn’t take long to unbolt them and I’d only swap tops twice a year but there seems to be a lot of little parts and brackets involved with these
I chuckled lol

This is what I want

Nice! But one more panel please!!

Then we both get what we want. You the front panels and me the front and mid!!

And of course you have the option to go back one more panel if you want to!

This is what turns up on a quick search for me:
The twill is true black, black diamond is more of a dark gray, especially over time. Twill has a canvas feel, black diamond a plastic feel. Twill is supposedly quieter and retains inside temp better. Twill can be a little harder to clean the very fine dust that gets in, but it does wash out.
Good assessment. Here is more info from Quadratec on the different materials.

Knowing that you can store it under the hard top at all times is a pretty big draw. Might consider that if they don’t make a flip top for front & mid.
