That sounds like a pain but not sure how the factory soft works either. I know you said you have the factory hard top so I won't ask how it compares but is it fairly quick to open this one or is it pain enough that you'd end up ducking under it?
Takes about 20 seconds for me. But depending on your finger/hand strength will vary. My wife canā€™t do it but sheā€™s an CPAšŸ˜ But she canā€™t figure out the hard top rear glass either.

Heh. Well, if by "figure out" you mean open the tail gate and the rear glass in the right order, I've tried to do that wrong more than once.

She was too conditioned to years of 4Runners. I initiated this purchase and she went along because she still has her 2019 special edition mx5 hardtop to drive 6 months of the year. Hopefully I donā€™t regret it over the next 5 years.

Yeah. A little wary myself. Seems crazy for me to have sold my Toyota FJ for a Ford (especially a first model year) but we've wanted a Bronco forever. Hope it lasts.

The critiques of the Ford OEM soft top being oversized and saggy looking are valid but isnā€™t that a design necessity in order to facilitate the rear soft top window lift up mechanism? This top certainly has a more snug fit for the panels but not being able to fully drop the top back toward the tailgate and not having an easy way to lift the rear plastic window seems like a steep trade off for a little aesthetic upgrade.

Unless of course itā€™s more durable or less leaky than the Ford soft top, in which case then yeah, I can see the appeal šŸ˜…

Correct, but I donā€™t want to rain on the OPā€™s parade, so I posted a rant about this in the Unpopular Opinion threadā€¦ šŸ˜

Incorrect. The windows do not need to look like complete ass for the little 6ā€ of lift. Soft top V2 will fix this and other design issues , and is in fast track design/testing. The soft top V1 is by far the biggest customer complaint.

Finally got the weather nice enough to get the MIC top off and the new Bestop soft top on. Easy install overall if you are hands on at all. Bestop YouTube video will be your best option along with the installation manual. Iā€™d say it was about 3 hours and a bit for me to get it on once I verified all parts were present once unpacked. Very nice tight fitting too with far superior to the awful looking factory top. It will be on from now until late October early November so not a big deal to do this twice a year in my mind.

There is significantly more than 6 inches of lift and I highly doubt there is a V2 soft top coming anytime soon. I would love to know how many people spend that much time staring at plastic side windows fretting about itā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.. if thatā€™s the biggest issue in your life consider yourself lucky.

Oh look, a nice clean and tight finish with no saggy windows. Don't show this to the Ford fan boys who insist that the only way to have a functioning soft top on the Bronco is to have rear windows that are 3 sizes too big and sag like an old man's baby makers. Looks great!

Yeah you undo the side tabs that fold into the side grooves same as side ones lock into the front and bottom groove, then simply flip it up.
Would you be able to post a picture or two of this? Would love to see. TIA!

Slantback tops in my opinion just never look right. Iā€™m guessing they got popular based on military vehicles, but Iā€™ve always thought they looked terrible on wranglers, the new breed of luxury sport SUVs and definitely on the Bronco. I donā€™t love the saggy OEM windows, but it looks best with a squared back in my opinion. Once again though, glad people are able to customize and make theirs as they want. Itā€™s much cooler seeing different rides out there.

I'm in the camp that thinks the slantback on the Bestop looks fantastic. The profile is soooo much better than with the factory top, especially on trims/builds with smaller tires. I probably won't go bigger than 33s, and I think that rear slant somehow balances out the overall proportion of the vehicle for smaller tires. Anyway... this would be a "day one" mod for me if I could rationalize the cost/advantage over the factory soft top for more than just the "looks". I'll probably switch to it eventually after I find enough flaws with the factory top that I can convince myself it's "worth it" to put the Bestop on.

I drive with my rear window out most of the time here in FL. Re groceries if the window is in? I just open the gate and put them in. No need to flip up the rear window. But thatā€™s just me.

I'd like to know how much of a boost in MPG you get with the soft top.
