So I've never been an off-road or suv person... Untill I saw the Bronco launch video in July of 2020. I've always been into performance cars (particularly sport compacts) and motorcycles (Harley guy here). But once I saw that video I was instantly in love with the new Bronco. I was very close to putting a reservation in, but unfortunately I wasn't at a place in my life to take on a new vehicle payment. That being said I spent the next 2.5 years fawning over Broncos, playing with the online configurator and keeping up with news about them.
Finally in November of '22 I was in a place where I could order one, but alas the order books were closed. So I decided to wait patiently until the day came to order. Of course I was excited and spent a lot of time looking at Broncos for sale online. I knew I wanted a 2 door model and the mid pkg (I love heated seats). So I figured I wasn't really going to find one for sale that met my needs and budget. In January Koon's Ford of Baltimore had a '22 black diamond in race red that had all the options I wanted and under 10k miles for a price in my budget. 3 days later I was in a Bronco of my dreams for a more then acceptable price!
By this time I was really excited about the heritage edition and having a Race Red model... I'm sure you know where this going lol. While I started planning and saving money I purchased a few small things from iAG, a towhook cover and some Paracord grab handles. Next I purchased a stubby antenna from Amazon as I wasn't a fan of the stock one. After that I purchased a blowoff valve adapter from Steeda. I missed the turbo sounds from my previous cars, so this helped lol.
After that it was time for the bigger items. I wanted the heritage look but wanted it to look a little modern and different. I decided to go with the iAG Para Hex grille in white. I haven't seen anyone else on here with that grille in white, maybe I'm the first? I like it because it's a modern, unique style, but the white gives it that throwback look. I really like it and it gets a lot of compliments
Next up was wheels. I really like the black steel wheels, but they weren't the look I'm going for with this. I thought about painting them white, but I don't think steel wheels look the best painted. I really liked the look of the fifteen52 AnalogHD wheels but everywhere seemed to be sold out. I reached out to them directly on the forum when I found out they had some and ended up getting a really good deal on them. I recommend dealing with Fifteen52 on here directly they are great! I installed them last night and wow do they change the look up!
So this is where I'm currently at with Big Red. I have a Black Bronco Emblem for the rear and black Bronco Script emblems for the sides I'd like to add, but I'm debating painting them white. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I also have a 50" rough country light bar I thought of adding, but I'm terrified of going through the car wash and damaging it or the Bronco.
I will update this journal with modifications or any cool trips or photos Id like to share. Thanks for looking!!
