Well it happened. Someone was impatient at a stop sign on a side street and decided to have their mini van reach out and touch my Bronco. Everyone in both vehicles are ok. I think everything can be repaired. Now the insurance company fun begins.

I was so mad I couldn't speak initially without saying bad things. I held my tongue because it was a mother with young daughter and the young one was very teary. I settled down and confirmed they were alright, then just paced around in disbelief until the cop and wrecker showed up.

I will say that I was able to swerve into the other lane until I was almost off the road. Something about the other vehicle gave me a clue that I needed to act, and the Bronco was super stable and solid the whole time. Big thumbs up to the Bronco design team for making such an awesome vehicle. It allowed me to do everything possible to avoid the situation.

As long as the van driver's insurance is paying for repairs, the body shop should add a "Market Value Adjustment" to the ultra-rare, 2-door Unicorn parts needed for your fix...

Not gonna happen, but that would be hilarious...

Actually, there is a "loss of value" claim to be made, which should result in a cash payment to the OP. I call it the "Carfax bonus"...

I dont think I could've held myself back as well as you did. I probably would've lost it.

Would not be surprised if they total it, That would suck if there is a loan on it,,,

Agree. Diminution in value. The carriers hate the argument but it's real.

Update: The other insurance company is accepting responsibility, which was really the only way it was going to go. Went and cleared out the remaining small items from the Bronco because who knows how long it will take to get repaired. Let's hope that parts are not that hard to get and it gets back up and running in a month, 2, 3...who knows.

Image at the storage yard. Lopsided sad face.

Unfortunately the fun has just begun. My 18 Mustang GT was in the body shop for a month and a half after being tapped in the rear due to part availability. I can’t imagine the wait for Bronco parts. I wish you luck.
