I do drive a Jeep gladiator so it’s not all bad!
I can relate. I bought a Gladiator to hold me over until things got sorted out. And/or they officially announced the Bronco truck. Now with that on indefinite hiatus I don't know what to do. I've become spoiled having a bed again. And adding a hard tri-fold gives me a ton of "trunk" space.

Carolla requires a permit for the 4 wheel only Carova beach but only if you stop on the beach and only in Summer. My July build has been pushed back...again

Photos looked great. My wife and I are headed to Duck in early October. I was really hoping and expected to have my Bronco for the trip but my build has gone MIA (with softtop) since July 19 - but will live vicariously through your photos on what it would have been like.

My family and I packed up the 2 door Velocity Blue Black Diamond and made the 4-1/2 hour drive to North Carolina’s Outer Banks this weekend and I’d like to share the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good:
My wife and kids agreed the Bronco is surprisingly comfortable on the road compared to our previous Jeep’s. We’re used to traveling light, so no regrets on the two door at all.

This vehicle is a show stopper. Everywhere we go, people want to check it out and talk about it and the comments are 99% positive.

We ran into one other new Bronco on the beach, a 4 door Outer Banks. It was nice to stop and chat with that family and share the stories of what it’s like being unpaid ambassadors for the model out in the wild.

The Bad:
Nothing that hasn’t already been covered. My wife asked why the speakers sound so terrible and my kids complained about the lack of decent cup holders.

The Ugly:
While driving on the beach is awesome, having the AdvanceTrac system crap out both days was not. While chugging along effortlessly in sand mode the dashboard suddenly lit up with a “Service AdvanceTrac”, “Pre-Collision Assist Not Available”, “Hill Descent Control Fault”, and “Drive Mode Not Available”. It did still indicate I was in 4 high and I didn’t get stuck, but it doesn’t inspire confidence to have that happen when you’re fully committed and dependent on the 4 wheel drive system.

Overall, it was a great trip. We had a great time, met some great people with Broncos on order.
Despite the glitches, the Bronco did its job of getting us there and back. I’ll be visiting the dealer tomorrow to discuss the faults.

I hope you like all the pics:

awesome!

where were you 2 weeks ago when I was there? hahaha. I still haven't got my Bronco (9/27 build week!) and was down in OBX the last week in August. We took the Tahoe out on the beach to see the horses, etc... And didn't see 1 Bronco! I was really hoping to see one. We went all the way out to Carova too. Actually looks like we made a bunch of the same stops you did. (except we actually went alllll the way down to the Hatteras lighthouse.)

I would've prefered the Bronco over the Tahoe on the beach, being as hard as I tried, the doors or roof wouldn't come off 😂. But the Tahoe did just fine, and no warning lights! (well, except for low tire pressure)

I was really hoping to have my Bronco by our vacation, but oh well, we'll be back.

Yeah, alerts not comforting!

Curious, looks like you upgraded the tires/wheels... What size are they? Did you air down? Could that have set off the alerts?

That VB BD looks great! I see you opted for the aluminum wheels. Did you add the BFGs after? Are they bigger than stock?

The tires are 285/70’s. I did air down. Another owner had a similar fault message that turned out to be a loose ABS sensor, hopefully that’s all this turns out to be.

Thanks! Those optional wheels look great! I kinda wish they were available on the BL and/or the 33”s were available on the BD!

Great pictures, Bronco and write up. I recommend replacing the front 4” speakers with something efficient (I chose Infinity because of the high efficiency and slightly lower nominal impedance) with “bass blockers”. It’s not perfect, but makes the sound quality decent with a bit more volume for top off motoring. I will add another pair of 4” in the rear with bass blockers and a small amp/sub at some point, but those mods made it tolerable until I make the next round of mods.

Did you upgrade tires? To what?
The OBX, were they on stock 255_18, or SASQUATCH?

I know the wait really sucks. Those of us who lucked out with “early” deliveries owe it to the rest of you to share pics to pass the time.
