I am unsure which to get when it comes to black diamond or badlands. I definitely want the rubberized flooring and marine grade vinyl. If I go black diamond with the mid vs badlands with mid not sure what to do if anyone has any input it is appreciated. Also wish you can upgrade the speakers without going to lux package.

Will you be going offroad?
Do you prefer bd interior or badlands?
How much does a slightly larger tire matter to you?

We can drill down and answer your question once we know your 'requirements'

To me, it's pretty simple : do you figure to crawl rocks or not? Well, and willing up pay for and want the lux package. But it'll cost you.

I was on BD for a bit. Built a BL, only $5k more than my BD build. Even though BD is more than capable for my camping plans, I liked all the extra toys the BL has. I may use those toys 1% of the time I own this vehicle, but it will be fun. As I gain more off-roading experience I'll go looking for more adventurous fun. Not sure if that helps with your decision but a different point of view.

Some off roading, not many places to go off roading on LI. I am going to do Sasquatch. Aren’t the interiors the same on both?

When I lived on LI, all my friends had to go upstate to do any 4 wheeling and camping. Finger lakes, IIRC.

Both are MGV but they are diff color schemes.

BD is black/gray with blue accents and stitching

BL is black with yellow/orange accents and stitching (BL also goes up to Lux package)

I’m getting BL but I MUCH prefer the color scheme of BD. Praying Ford winds up offering both color schemes on BL

Definitely agree. I knew the interiors were different colors I prefer the blue but don't mind the orange. Im pretty sure you will be able to change those colors out after the fact.

The option of 33” tires is unique to the BL. If You want those tires (not SQ 35”) and you upgrade, it will cost about $1.2 to $1.5k in tires, assuming they fit. If you add that cost, plus the aluminum wheel upgrade (I like those wheels and the BL comes with aluminum) you are getting close to the same price, but giving up the potential resale benefit of the BL package. For someone looking for the capability, the BL has the upgraded transfer case, larger front axle, front locker and sway bar disconnect. It’s a tough call!

It sounds like the BD is better for your needs between the 2 options although with the limited off roading that you plan to do, there are a number of features that won't be used and I'd personally look at a different trim. There's almost too many choices.
