It's true and even I'm guilty. I've been all over from Corolla to Ocracoke with my Jeep and never aired down and never got stuck. Nothing but stock tires on the 4 door Sahara. I even pulled out a few trucks. It's all in knowing what you're doing. By the way I've have my OBX (w SAS) for a little over 2 weeks but haven't had a chance to take it to the beach yet. Not planning on it airing down either when I do...

However, hardpack sand vs the silty soft stuff we have on our coast are two entirely different things.

From the photo, that sand doesn't appear air down required

The rough country bar doesn't look too bad there. I considered getting it but the non light version has the light mounts on it still and I thought that looked stupid

The sand it hard because they are parked in high tide area during low tide. The sand is very soft above the tide area. I was aired down to 18psi on my 18 Expedition.
