I can only hope that the black painted hardtop is an OPTION for the 4-door Big Bend - earlier post showed it is not an OPTION - but below shows that it is an OPTION:
No option for it on build and price either, as opposed to others that have it shown as one.
That chart is also claiming Raptor can’t get the black painted top, which is definitely wrong.

Could be the cause I guess, but then why show the black out raptor with the new top having removable side windows 🤷‍♂️
Maybe they’re just putting them behind the raptor “pay wall”. Certainly wouldn’t surprise me I guess.
Until a J2 Raptor with the black painted HT is shown with removable rear windows, the "Eclipse" Black Out Raptor shown on Chase's IG should be treated in the same manor as past concepts. Chase also mentioned that the headliner was held in with magnets when this current top is shown with guide pins and Velcro.

I'm reminded of the "Overland" concept that Ford and Bronco Nation was so proud to show off with the touted removable windows on the MIC HT.

The removable windows might end up being a unique feature that never makes it future HT versions. The magnets holding the headliner might not have been robust enough to withstand a bouncy ride where the Velcro is stronger to withstand the jarring forces.

Yeah I definitely agree. Without actually seeing one it’s all speculation.

Thanks for the breakout!

I guess, maybe, the key word between the HE top and the SB top is "modular". Ford has definitely made an effort not to call this mod top V2.

Not a big fan of it not matching the fender flares and the door handles. It seems like a lot with adding another shade of black/grey.

I agree but my beef is with the black/gray plastic flares, mirror caps, door handles and bumpers. Now at least the top looks good. Black plastic ALWAYS ends up looking like crap and everything fades a slightly different color. C’mon ford, at least offer options for black or body color painted bits like OBX on all the trims along with black steel bumpers front and back.

Agreed, that’s why I went with gloss black grill, mirror caps, door handles, B & C pillar trims to match. I also use chemical guys tire shine on all the black plastic trim to keep it black

Bronco fam just wanted to post some photos of the first Bronco we got in with the Black painted MOD top. Looks pretty good in person but there is some orange peel look to it being open and honest.

Edited to add additional rear inside photos and photo of the raptor style running boards.

I don’t understand the inside of the top being white (or body color). It looks unfinished. Where are the bolts on the rear top?

Bolts are in the same locations, the white interior of the top is like Jeep has been doing. I cannot confirm if these are from a different manufacturer but they feel a lot different than the MIC top.

LIke it. We ordered our first Bronco a month or so ago and with the gloss black top. Never saw one but was hopeful it would look good. Looks nice in the photos; thanks for sharing.

I would take a black painted mod top with a white interior any day over the MIC. Quality is more important to me than the white inside of the top. If the MIC top was more quality built, I’d be fine with the gray plastic look of that too.
My thought too was that if you really wanted the inside of the top to be black (which I can understand), there are always options like plasti-dip or wrapping the interior white parts.

A couple updates as I just got access to it again from PDI.

The sound deadening is not magnetic. It has two Velcro strips and two push pins.

Also I see no way to remove the side windows. I may be missing something but I have searched around the entire edge and do not see the same system that’s on the White MOD top to remove them.

Very interesting.

As someone else mentioned above, I wonder if the velcro/tabs was just more durable/reliable than magnets....plus probably cheaper than sticking a metal piece/magnet in the top and panels.

That's also disappointing that the windows don't seem to be removable. That said, I'd still rather have this than the MIC.
