If BLIS sensors are in taillights they will be in both types as BLIS is part of mid package available on Big Bend and Black Diamond with the non signature style.
is the signature style an option for the BD

Rangers are good for 7500 if properly equipped soooo the frame is good. It likely 2 reasons. 1 the coil link type rear axle. Leafs are more stable for towing. And 2 it would decimate the Rangers sales. The ranger isnt exactly bronco level hotness, and most people who really need a bed will go f150. The frame is solid and if you address the suspension issues with an assist. Upgrade the hitch to class 3 and get some firestone airbags and you should be able to tow most small trailers within reason. Dont forget a trailer brake kit.
If frame and suspension were your only data points for towing then it's pretty close.

But you also have:
  • Frontal area
  • wheelbase
  • Entirety of the braking system
  • Gearing and rear axle ratio
  • Engine & Trans cooling
  • Drive wheels (and locking out drive wheels for certain configurations)
More info as to the SAE J2807 towing requirements can be found at the link below.

What rim, all I can see is that glorious grey top ?
It comes prefaded for us, eliminating the agony of watching it slowly die in the sun over the years.

This has been discussed quite a bit on the towing forums. From what I remember reading itā€™s not just related to what the frame can handle, itā€™s what the system can handle. On the Ranger youā€™re dealing with rear leaf springs and a solid axle which rides bouncy but can handle heavy weights while still tracking straight. On the Bronco you have rear coil springs and a solid axle with no sway bar. This is probably done to give the Bronco the total vehicle articulation they wanted. Because of this setup a trailer wonā€™t be as stable as it would behind a Ranger. Compromises.
So would the badlands and the sway bar on it allow more towing capabilities ?

Thatā€™s a little too polite for my taste. Someone else on the forum suggested sun-f**d grey for the MIC tops.

Now thatā€™s truth in advertising!
i donā€™t know why they wouldnā€™t offer white and black tops as standard. They had 4- years to realize people like black and white tops. Even Mini Cooper figured that out. To screw people over with having them upgrade the color because grey sucks would be a bad move IMO

Observation points of the photo:

  • As we all know (or at least about three of us know), the final color of the material used to make the roof is not in use. These cars are fitted with pre-production roofs from their supplier. They are making final fitment changes to the mold and will use the properly pigmented materials once the molds are working as needed.
    • The black plastic used for the window hinge caps will be the production color.
    • [...]
  • Rear visibility is going to be piss-poor out of this rig.
    • Rear window wiper is tiny and only covers the center.
    • Spare wheel blocks most of center view until you get out a 1/4 mile from the rig.
    • view to the sides of where the wiper covers will be minimal.
Quoting the first point for everyone in the back who may have missed it.

Quoting the second point to say it canā€™t be any worse than my Wrangler.

Looks terrible, as does the pre-faded gray roof.

I might just consider the carbonized grey for my paint color so it will match the top...

Is the towing package standard on BD?
