I installed the plug and play flat 4 trailer wiring last weekend. Plugged in a tester a day or two ago and no joy. Checked the red 10 amp fuse supplied at the battery and it’s blown. I can replace but is a 10 amp fuse sufficient?

If that is the fuse it came with I would say yes. I'm somewhat familiar with the testing procedures at Curt so I'm sure that is what they tested with. I don't know if that is like the Reese version where you run that power line along the underbody of the Bronco from the battery but if it is, more than likely the wire was pinched/kinked/nicked somewhere.

I’ll trace it. Thanks.

I grounded it to the rear frame rail. Drilled the hole and used the self tapping screw. Still secure.

Did you sand off the area where the eyelet contacts the frame?

No. Was lazy and presumed the screw was making contact with bare metal.

Id put in a new fuse and see if it blows. If it doesn't, try blinker, check fuse, lights, check fuse, brakes check fuse (without a trailer). If that all works, then plug in a trailer and repeat to see when it blows.

Those fuses are cheap and maybe while installing you shorted by accident. Don't go retracing everything without trying it again.

You should sand it down. It should be fine at install, but longer term it won't be good enough. After you sand it down and re-install, hit it with some paint to prevent rust.

Sand a dime sized area around the hole and try another fuse.

I had the same issue the very first time I went to use my trailer lights, had to replace the fuse... haven't had any issues since.

I say go up in multiples of 20 until you let all the smoke out.
That‘ll git ‘er done!

BTW, you do own a fire extinguisher, don’t you?
