We met at the Wilson Creek Trailhead, great place to meet up, hold our drivers meeting, air down and use the restrooms if needed before hitting the trail!

We had a bit of bad weather but the soils were perfect and we could stay cozy and comfy in our Broncos easy enough. Everyone had a UHF walkie talkie in each vehicle so we could chat along the way!

The trail was a medium to easy Bronco trail. We took the time to discuss and switch through some of the different modes.
The 2 Badlands mostly utilized the Baja mode, our Black Diamond in Sand for the first part.
We made sure to switch our Lockers off until they are needed.
We then switched over to Mud and Ruts for a great contrast. I explained to Matt why I love the Sport mode the manual has.
Kelly and I had some fun Bronco trivia questions too for the radio chatter and give away!

After about 90 minutes into the ride we stopped here for the LasFit amber POD ditch light give away!
Congratulations G6 member @Hot Dog (Matt) on the win!!! Can’t wait to see this on your Area 51 Badlands MT non Squatch!!! You will LOVE them for our Idaho weather!
Then… Matt using his off Roadeo skills amazed us all with no doubt the “line of the day” - cool hill climb!
He just took off on up it like no thing!

We then continued west into the clouds, the sandy souls continued to deliver despite the precept.

Matt and I discussed the various features of our amazing manuals such as the decent control - 12mph max with brake modulation to adjust the speed. Simply breaking to 5 or 3 mph then even take it out of gear, release the clutch and let our Broncos do the work. Applying brake if necessary to slow even more if needed. It’s basically the computer braking with 4 independent brake pedals. You can hear the pulses from for example; front passenger and then maybe rear driver. When Matt came down from his hill climb we could see it working from even far away.
We also made sure Travis and Kim had the Trail Mode on. They absolutely LOVED that feature. Even commented that his new UTV needs said tech!

As we went further away from the Snake River valley, the soil has a much greater clay content.
The precipitation was having a much different effect here so to keeping with the “tread lightly” principles we decided to re-route the route.
This is where pre-planning and knowing your trail systems turned out to be key!
Kelly and I were able to route over to an actual road that after a short scenic trek over the gravel we looped back into our loop and the good conditions via an entirely different route.
Originally that section was on our route but the second part (that we missed) offered a cool cave, some other hill climb sections and a cool gravel pit like area where cattle hang out. Would have been a perfect spot to have Travis and Kim try out the trail turn assist with out damaging anything.
We we’re just happy to have an alternate route that offered up more fun!

Everyone arrived back at the trail head just before the darkness to really set in. Good times were had by all and just up the road a few miles was a great service fuel station with free air before the drive home!

Ford Bronco's off roading in Idaho - Boise Bronco Owners Memorial Meet at the Wilson Creek Trails

I'm heading, if there is gas, to Stanley in September. Any routes recommended in that area. I already have Basin Butte, Pinyon Peaks, and NF 555 to Deadwood Reservoir on the list. Great picks. Do you folks have a club decal to sell? I'm going to start collecting them to apply to the side window, if and when I get my truck.

Right on, working on the logo still, not entirely decided about the one I've made, though I have been using it lol!

Definitely keep us posted to your arrival in the area! Always down for showing someone around the trails we do know (like these)!
We are still exploring the many trails here and there are A LOT!
As a MTB rider the Wilson Creek Trails were somewhat familiar and a no brainer of a place to start off roading our new Bronco! As per must do rides I am afraid I am not well suited to suggest any based on so few experienced yet ourselves. At least not just yet... lol.
We did enjoy the 8th street road up into the Boise Foothills and Bogus Basin Ski area. A maze of trails we need to learn there next! Also, planning on a Silver City drive too soon. So much too explore and by September I may actually have a favorite, as of now everything is a new fun adventure!
