What is a Panhard Bar?
In the off-road world, Pandhard Bars, or Rods, are often referred to as "Track Bars". The Panhard bar was named for its first manufacturer and is essential for control and maneuverability. It is used to retain a solid axle laterally, or side to side. It acts as a stabilizer, reducing the side-to-side roll of a vehicle by restricting lateral movement and better aligning the wheels with the center of the vehicle. It's bolted to the rear axle and frame of the vehicle, allowing the rear wheels to move up and down, but not left to right (laterally).
Why do I need a Relocation Bracket?
Panhard issues can occur when you lift your vehicle, causing the angle to change. An adjustable bar and/or relocation bracket can solve this by restoring the lateral geometry. The BOSS relocation bracket moves the axle housing mounting point upward to correct the alignment, restoring the geometry, and bringing the rear suspension roll center to your Bronco's center of gravity.
