So I picked up 2022 Badlands 2 door 3 weeks ago. Overall, very pleased with performance, however over the past two days of use the "brake pedal".

When the brake pedal is depressed no noise, but when I release pressure and take foot off pedal as the pedal returns to normal position it "clunks".

I have not had any safety concerns with function of brakes. Fluid reservoir full.

Comparing my other Ford 350 '17 KR the pedal was whisper quiet.

Has anyone else experienced this "clunk".

Thx

Jon

Mine does it when I let the pedal jump back after braking, slow release no clunk.

Same. If I just release, it clunks. If I control it, no clunk.

Mine feels like it doesn't apply pressure initially in the pedal travel, then I have to overcome a "step" or a stiff threshold before it starts braking. Once that threshold is overcome, the brakes are extremely sensitive.

The same is true as the brakes are released. Once the pedal releases past a certain point, the pedal returns to the top of its travel with a lot of force. My wife's car does the same thing (2016 Mazda) and she doesn't notice it at all.

I am coming from a 30 year old Toyota with a very linear braking system. I think perhaps people who drive newer cars are used to this style of brake boosting, but those used to older style brakes are more sensitive to it.

Quick poll: how old is the car you drove before the Bronco?

Im not sure if Im feeling the same thing but to me it feels like a bump from the slip yoke on the driveshaft or something along those lines. I remember when I worked Ford service it was real common on certain F150. I havent looked under it to see so Im just assuming. From what Ive read its a common characteristic.

Mine has started something new recently. When releasing the pedal from a stop, towards the middle to end of travel I feel what I would call a clunk. It’s not anything I can hear, I just feel it. Like if the brakes are slow to release from one of the wheels is what I imagine in my head. Does it most of the time but not every time. Like some one else said if I release slow doesn’t happen. I’m not sure if this is the clunk others are talking about. But it started about a year into ownership. 6k miles.

I have been having the same issue since for the past few months. It has been getting worse over time. Deal acknowledged it but said they didn't know what to do...Of course.
