just a thought, don't all modern engines go into limp mode when they get hot?

my diagnosis is the same as most here, leaking coolant from hose/clamp not an over heat.

Its a Ford, so I would expect an obscene amount of chimes to be going off if your temps get too high. Ford LOVES the chime. My Ranger seems to never shut up.

BBQ means VERY different things depending on what part of the country you're in. Here in AZ, it means 'DROWN THE #%$%% CHICKEN IN AS MUCH SAUCE AS POSSIBLE AND THEN BURN IT UNTIL ITS BARELY RECOGNIZABLE.' I miss North Carolina.

My brand new 2021 black diamond over heated today. I have to have it towed to a dealership. It started smoking / fuming. Has this happened to anyone??? It had less than 2k miles

OP, did the dash guage or light indicate overheating? Otherwise as suggested, might have just been a coolant leak. When our van coolant hose split and leaked coolant on the exhaust pipe, clouds of smoke were coming out of the engine bay, but no actual overheating, and not even that large a leak.
