I only wish the base model had the full complement of exterior colors available. I can't stomach spending $5k more for the Big Bend just to get a different paint job (2 dr base, no-squatch-for-me model). I understand the adding of options, increased accessories, modifications etc that are tangible additions to the vehicle, but paint is a replacement item, more of a 1 for 1.

But, the base is still amazing and I still have some good colors to choose from. For how I intend to you use the car, simple is better for me.

It happens on up the line as well.......

The Big Bend guys are griping about having to move up to Black Diamond to get Cyber Orange.

Yes they created multiple trims to make more money.

Everything in your list of wants can be accomplished by BL with high package. Orange interior accents are easily remedied. You can add side steps likely as a dealer accessory or buy them later. I'm missing the problem here.
I share some of the OP's concerns. The issue for me with the BL package is the orange seat stitching. Had they simply kept that black I could change out the other orange trim. Should this process get pushed out even farther because of something in my build I was considering an F150 Tremor. Ford did the same thing with that one and it has this orange trim accents on the inside and outside of the vehicle that looks like hell with certain colors but you can't get rid of the orange. This hasn't been an issue with Ford in the past, clearly someone new is in charge of these color design elements and their tastes do not align with mine.

While I understand your frustration, Ford is a “for profit” corporation. They need to maximize the profitability of each vehicle model. A perfect example is the BD not having signature LED headlights. Why? At a functional level, it is close to the BL model, and Ford needs to differentiate the two models. Their job is to tempt/convince you to move up in the model range, and add option packages. Your job is to assess your financial situation, your needs, your wants, and buy what you think is right for you.
I would not mind moving up to the next trim level if they would allow me to keep the things that I like about the other model . Instead they push you to the next model and take away what you liked about the other model .

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't really an issue and I will roll with something that will put a big ass smile on my face. It seems like the longer delay gives us more room to parse and gripe about small little issues, so it is all relative.

I somewhat agree but its color for me. What got me onto the bronco was the Jimmy Chin commercial. Base model in cyber orange but I can’t get it. I want the bronco in that commercial. Based model, cyber orange, Sasquatch and throw in the 2.7L but I would be OK with any engine.

For everyone that will say just jump up to the black diamond. It’s 8k more, it has an emblem on the side, no blackout grill, no cloth seats, has blue interior accents and it’s not what I want. I like the simplicity of the base model.
