Thought this was interesting. Could be a fun event to see different concepts and accessory catalog online before ordering. Especially since SEMA has been cancelled.

FORD BRONCO ACCESSORIES TO HAVE VIRTUAL REVEAL, SAYS PRODUCT CHIEF

The 2021 Ford Bronco has already proven to be a hot commodity. The reborn off-roader has garnered over 165,000 reservations since the SUV made its debut, pushing deliveries as far back as mid-2022. However, if the Bronco is going to take on the Jeep Wrangler, it is going to need all sorts of accessories on deck for owners. Thankfully for Bronco buyers, Ford has already confirmed that they will be rolling out over 200 accessories for the SUV when it hits showroom floors. And the smaller Bronco Sport will have 100. But with the SEMA 2020 show being canceled, it puts the original plans for debuting these products in a flux.

Thanks to a recent interview with Ford’s Chief Product Development & Purchasing Officer Hau Thai-Tang, we now know a key detail on how Ford is looking into alternative ways for revealing its Bronco accessories portfolio.

“We can do a virtual event and get a really good impact,” said Thai-Tang.

If the world wasn’t enduring a global pandemic, the Blue Oval would have likely stuffed dealer showrooms with samples of their Bronco Accessories to give buyers a taste of what is in the Ford Performance catalog. Heck, they could have even taken the whole lot on tour across the country like General Motors did with the C8 Corvette. Times are different however, and we’ll have to settle for yet another virtual reveal on this one.

While we weren’t able to pin down exactly when the product reveal will be taking place, we think it’s a safe bet that Ford wants customers to be familiar with the catalogue before deliveries are slated to begin. In fact, the company has already shown off some of the upcoming accessories via their Bronco concept vehicles. Products like tube doors, a Yakima LockNLoad Platform roof rack, Ford Performance off road recovery boards, a Rigid 40-inch Light bar, and others have been highlighted on the Two-Door Trail Rig Concept, and will be available for order on all full-size Broncos. Ford will even let you finance the price of these accessories alongside that of your SUV itself, which is pretty cool.

While the Ford team will be offering over 200 accessories for the Bronco when it launches, they still won’t be able to compete with the massive aftermarket support that exists for the Wrangler lineup at this point. That said, if those 200 accessories provide enough utility for fans, they might just be more than enough.

So if the online accessories reveal lasts as long as the Bronco reveal, 3 minutes, that will be .9 seconds for each of the 200 accessories, don't blink.
