This summer I did an overnight hike in Roaring Plains and a 2 day in Dolly Sods. Canaan Valley and surrounding areas are just stunning. I don't live far from that area - if anyone organizes a group, sign me up!!!blackwater was actually shot from the ground! thanks regardless it was a great trip
Dolly Sods was one of my favorite places. Its beautiful and also unforgiving. lol unless you like mud to your knees. I highly recommend, mud and all!!Fantastic photos, beautiful area, and great report. Thanks for sharing with us.
At some point in time my BB "Big Green" will arrive, and my first adventure will be in the area of your report.
A bit southeast of Davis is the area called Dolly Sods Recreation/Wilderness Area.
Looking forward to EG, BB, and the big adventure. I tried the trip before, however, in a regular vehicle, and had to turn around before I could finish the trip.
I'll post photos if I ever get there, and if anyone can share how you add pictures to the post.
Thanks very much.
