I grew up in Fordyce. My Bronco will travel through Camden many times in the future.

My first NWA meet-and-greet trail ride with @kodiakisland ended with copious amounts of Mexican food and no broken parts!

That's @kodiakisland's 2-door Black Diamond, and the 4-door Badlands is mine.

@kodiakisland and I first met online here on the forum over a year ago. He is a few years younger than me, but we both grew up in small towns in southwest Arkansas less than 30 miles apart. I have been fortunate to travel all around the world, visiting 28 countries and living in 5 over the last 30 years. Yet despite my extensive travels, he is still one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met. He used to live on Kodiak Island in Alaska, is an accomplished private pilot whom I have flown with on multiple occasions, and is a lifelong hunter -- also a favorite past-time of mine. So we have a lot in common, and we have developed a pretty cool friendship in real life.

Now that we both have Broncos, we met this morning at his home for a little off-road exploring down Cove Creek Road near Farmington, a little southwest of Fayetteville.

This is the formal study in his house -- the first room you see when you walk in the front door, with French doors and clear glass panels...

Yes, that's right. The focal point of the entryway to his home is a hunting trophy room with a reloading bench. Definitely my kind of guy!

But wait, there's more... including a few in the living room!

And this is his beautiful silver Labrador Retriever, Foxy, the lovely dog in his avatar…

Foxy is obviously @kodiakisland's baby...

Since neither of us have had a chance to install GMRS radios in our brand new vehicles (i.e., General Mobile Radio Service), and we were going off the beaten path and well outside of cell tower coverage today, communication between vehicles would have been difficult, so we decided to just go together in the 2-door BD, which allowed us to talk throughout the journey, and also allowed me to snap some pics to share.

We didn’t tackle any great, technical challenges today, but we got the Bronco dirty, played around in 4x4, tested the Crawler gear, and scraped the bash plates.

Below are a few of my pics of the gravel roads, trails, bluffs, and creeks that we saw this morning, just to give you a sense for the Cove Creek Road area….

After we explored for about 3 hours, we headed back to civilization for a late lunch of some hearty Tex Mex enchiladas at Gabriela's Mexican Grill Restaurant.

All in all, it was a wonderful day enjoying the great outdoors with a good friend.

Very Cool. I live in Fort Smith.. anxiously awaiting my 2022 Badlands Sasquatch.. although, I'm pessimistic that it will be anytime soon... I refuse to give up on MIC Hardtop... although I did have my dealership remove Towing Pkg yesterday as i can work around that a little easier..
Broncos..off roading, big game animals..dogs, tex mex... all great things!
BTW, both bronco's look awesome

@kodiakisland's Black Diamond was completely stock, but he has been upgrading many of the components. One of those upgrades was the installation of 33" Toyo Tires Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires at delivery.

Very nice report and ride. I think 80% of us would be more than happy to hit trails no more challenging than those, it shows you don't have to rock crawl to enjoy your Bronco.
