Went to the dealer to drive an Outer Banks with the 2.3L engine. It was terrible! Felt like a little wind up car, no power, my husband couldn't believe it. Went back to the dealer, and with much discussion, said he had a car with the 2.7L. We drove it and what a difference! Power, sounded great, so relieved I ordered that engine! Thoughts?

Adequate power is a very personal feeling. One variable of your test could have been the difference of the two vehicles (gearing, weight, etc). Number of test miles on them could also have been a factor in the "seat of the pants dynamometer". 🤷

Hmmm...the two engines were totally different. Glad I got the 2.7.

They didn't have a Bronco with the 2.7l so we drove an SUV with the same engine.

Did someone drive an Edge ST and compare it to the Bronco?
I think you will be happy with the v6. With that said, keep in mind that my Mustang 5.0 and F150 5.0 do not get the same quarter mile times. They are different vehicles built to do different things. You should look for a 2.7 Bronco to test drive so you can apples to apples compare.

You seem very excited and enthusiastic, so don't let me rain on your parade with these thoughts that I peddle to internet strangers.

man i don't know. i drove the 2.3a and was impressed, and my dd has a 2.0TT and is lighter that i referenced.

my guess is that suv was way lighter, or something was up with that 2.3 mannequin you drove. the 2.3 is plenty good for the bronco and actually a little zippier off the gate vs the 2.7.

remember, just because it's a 2.7 it's a completely different tune, vehicle weight, etc

You realize the car with the 2.7 is a lot lighter than a bronco with a 2.3 better comparison would have been a bronco with 2.7 or f150
