Bronco Fun Day in the Outer Banks

My Wife and I made a run up to the VA border on the North Carolina Beach of Cordova. Saw a whole bunch of our Bronco brethren out on the beach. My arm is tired from Waving, lol. A whole lot of fun today.

Ocracoke Island…. Been going out there since 1998. Sailing, fishing, body surfing. Our happy place.

That's my favorite place in the world. I would move there tomorrow if I could. I've driven that beach several times. When you get up a little higher, that sand is so deep and soft. Even aired down, in 4H, with my rear end locked and traction control disabled, my 2020 F-150 always feels like it's close to losing momentum. Hasn't happened yet, thank goodness, but that beach can be white-knuckled at times. Low tide is definitely the best time to go. It's also a great bar & restaurant in Corolla -- Low Tide Bar & Grille.

My late brother introduced me to the OBX; he too wanted to move there. Then his health started going downhill and he realized, the medical facility there is just a big urgent care--and that real care is a helicopter ride to Norfolk. Yep. The older I get, the different my location requirements get.

But then I talk with people like the older woman at the Vineyards on the Scuppernong in Manteo, I hear their stories, and I start to think "if she can do it, I can, life's too short"...

Sept is the best time of year in the OBX. We just spent the holiday at our Carova get away shack. Definitely a lot of 6G Bronco’s running around.
