Are we still going to argue that these are sells to dealers and not to actual consumers? If so, how are sales down compared to last year? Are we going to say production constrains/logistic issues are worse this year vs. last?

Wrangler Q2 2024 sales: 38,897

Three years into production, plenty of inventory, and Bronco still can’t catch Jeep even with better road manners. Can’t blame the Bronco design team because it looks killer and is comparable to the Jeep off-road. Can’t blame the economy because they’re in the same market. I get that the Jeep has a solid front axle but I doubt the Sahara purchasers even know what that means. I don’t get it.

It was always going to be an uphill climb to dethrone the long established Wrangler. Not a lot different than the Camaro despite being the superior performance car never being able to dethrone the Mustang as humans are creatures of habit and like to stick to what they feel comfortable with. Also it seems like Ford dealers haven't done Ford any favors especially in the first two or three years of Bronco release. Still sales aren't bad for a newly releases model and Ford it's probably time for a bit of a refresh just to maintain sales and prevent a sharp decline.

Dude Jeep has been around for years and years and the design is largely iconic. A lot of people don’t even know the Ford Bronco exists and think it’s a different kind of Jeep. It’s going to take a while to get a reputation compared to Wrangler/Rubicon

What’s your best guess on the percentage of people purchasing a Wrangler in 2024 who never heard of a Bronco?

Jeep is cheaper and in some ways superior to Bronco. Soft top available on 2 doors, a bit more nimble and perhaps more fun to drive in town and off road. Bronco is larger, more substantial but feels it and is about 5-6k more expensive particularly in the lower trim levels. I’ve had both, the Bronco is the better, more usable all around vehicle but the Jeep was just more fun just bombing around town or on the trails.

What’s your best guess on the percentage of people purchasing a Wrangler in 2024 who never heard of a Bronco?

Not sure but most car buyers are really uneducated about the cars they are buying so I’d wager it’s on the higher side.

There are thousands upon thousands of online reports of Jeeps having shit quality/ reliability. They constantly rank the worst in reports and people still buy them

Most new Wranglers I see driving around are rental spec saharas, sports or base gladiators. Most of those consumers dont even know what they are driving. Just bought them because they are popular. I rented a new gladiator and it was like driving a lil red wagon on the highway and seats were horrible. I know people complain about fit and finish on the Bronco but the Jeep was way worse! Compare the Jeep hardtop latches with The Bronco. Jeep interior and latches are flimsy af.

I have a 2022 4 door non-sas Badlands that I got for 47.9K. It was price protected and I got a good deal.
I had not looked at prices since then but last week I was at a Ford dealer getting a quote for a 250 Transistor van for work and decided to look at the Broncos. Holy Cow!! 65.5K for my Bronco. 70K for the SAS Badlands. I couldn’t afford one at todays prices.

What strikes me is Ranger year-to-date sales are down 37 percent.
I blame it on pricing, the lack of cab, bed-length, engine and transmission options.
