Could definitely do that however there is a reason Ford didn’t make that into production. Automotive grade leathers are much more rigid and have high amounts of UV protectant. Because of this, distressed and nubuck finishes don’t work with these protectants and thus relegated to furniture and fashion leathers.

What that means is the leather will wear quicker over time, the dye will fade quicker as it’s exposed to more sunlight, and the leather may tend to stretch more as it’s softer and more elastic than automotive grade leather.

But it’s certainly doable however customers need to be aware of these factors.

This makes a lot of sense. I don’t like it, but I at least understand it now... thanks

For the grab handles... would we send em to ya and you wrap em... or are you gonna have blanks made and then wrap em... or some sort of lace up installation by the end user?

Great question, not sure yet. Waiting to get my hands on the production ones to figure out the best method.
