Four door rear seat is wider since it doesn't sit between the wheel wells.

That was actually my mistake. I originally didn’t specify that I meant to only use the rear seats from the 4DR. So, they were trying to figure out why I would want the 4DR front seats. I have since updated the first post.

Its good but the roll bar isnt strong enough there and the rear side window on the hardtop is too much glass to damage. Maybe if it was a slider window the glass would work. But still need another support on the roll bar.
I think if ford would have went with something like this with atleast on if not 2 reverse swinging rear doors. Smaller than the 4 doors ones and keep all front doors the same size would have been good. They can be kissing doors that dont require the fronts to open first.

Looks damn good though.

So the worst thing about the 4 door is the long wheelbase and resulting breakover angle...not a dealbreaker, but a limitation...and you want to take on that disadvantage...AND give up the advantages of 2 more doors. The worst possible configuration....awful.

100% this
Alternatively, this vehicle isn't just being sold to rock crawling off roaders. In fact i'd argue the majority are going to be daily drivers that barely see a dirt road. And for that case.

Style, a 2 door with some better proportions
plus
Function, some added cargo and better stability

Makes 100% sense, and probably for more actual buyer.

I get it, its an offr-oad vehicle, but the fact remains thats not what everyone is buying this for.

That being said, from an offroad only perspective, yes breakover it would affect break over, but by how much exactly vs x amount of cubic inches of cargo gained? Like how many obstacles will that extra few inches matter?

But the proportions of this look ridiculous? It looks like someone glued two bronco's together and put the side window out of a tour bus in it. The 4 door looks better than this in every way.

Oh I agree. The full length with 2 doors looks GOOFY AF. But i think a moderately longer 2-door, looks BETTER than what they built...proportionally...imho

here's a little less extreme...half way, ignore the extra "seam", i think it is proportionally better than the actual 2-door given the hood length

heck maybe keep the seam and give it a half door

I honestly thought this is what we would get when they revealed the Bronco R.

The only thing better then the extended wheelbase 2 door would be a 2 door pickup with a 6 foot box.
