Bronco R Race Prototype Revealed for Baja 1000!

For the endurance needs of Baja’s 1,000 grueling miles, we built in a limited number of race-focused parts. But even the twin turbos of the EcoBoost® engine are representative of what the production Bronco will offer.

We all kinda knew that there would be a TT Ecoboost engine, but I think this is our first official confirmation

This basically confirms it! (now I don't have to play devils advocate ) For those disappointed I hope that this shows they are taking IFS to another level, not like a typical midsize truck/SUV. As cool as this "R" is I hope they don't focus the marketing too much on "desert racing", this will no doubt be a better jack of all trades than the Raptor for example.

The bummer part is for us East coast guys, it kinda makes the bronco a road only vehicle. We don't have places to run high speed or deserts, just tight trails that love rip pieces of of trucks were you need clearance and articulation. So in my opinion it will not be a "jeep killer" which is bite of a bummer.

The race prototype is built on a modified Ford T6 architecture that will provide the base for the production model.

Any way to know whether this is based on the 2-door wheelbase...the 4-door wheelbase...or something purpose-built for this event?

I mean, I don't really need doors on my big bronco, I climb up the rear tire into the bed then into the front seat.
