This thing is a great size. I like that the actual body width of the Bronco R isn't too huge, most of that giant width is outside of the flares. The length also seems about right given this is probably the 4 door chassis and the production 2 door will be a fair bit shorter.
I wonder how close the wheelbase is in length to the production 4 door?

I'm often with dogs on old Forest Service roads with no cell coverage...4-5 miles from asphalt......keeping the wheels turning is my top priority

Even assuming we're looking at the 4-door wheelbase, the 2-door will still be huge. Just look at the distance from the A-pillar to the front on both vehicles

Don't sell just yet...I'd bet all the Bronco hype will drive Gen1s prices to new heights

me too....but surely at least the 2.7 is available at launch?
Length is subjective. who knows what all they stretched to fit the chassis. door openings look stretched, so do the fenders and hood. *edit* So do the rear quarters.

Dose anyone have the thought of 0f waiting on buying the new bronco after a year or so of production? Just to see consumer reports . Or maybe a bigger motor
I'm planning on buying an F150 Raptor in the next couple of months and replacing it down the road with the Raptor Bronco so because of this it will give me enought time for the hype to die down and any initial teething issues to be worked out.

Two words...ROCK MONSTER
We will see but right now its looking like.

Ford Marketing: We should bring back the Bronco
Ford Executive: Great idea
Ford Marketing: And we can go head to head with the Jeep
Ford Engineering: FYI Toyota just fired the head designer of the FJ
Ford Executive: We should hire that guy he has experience
Consumer: .............

Which is a bummer cause I was really looking forward to buy one.

Some clever Jalopnik commenter figured out that it's the 2.7 in the Bronco R based on the position of the oil filter:

Sharp eye. Does the 3.0 use the same filter location?

The FJ didn't fail because of the IFS. It failed because they didn't update it and it lacked a lot of things besides SFA. For example no removable top or doors, and no 4 door option (which is what saved the Wrangler).

With the neutral stance, and that width, it should've been fairly simple to get about 20" of travel out of this setup. that is with 45° down and 30° up in travel with about an 18" long arm.

So just a couple minutes thoughts:

1. Crazy how awesome this thing looks. I always said this was going to be Ford’s take on a JL with first gen styling. It’s really more like Ford’s version of a “JM” looks straight up futuristic and incredible.

2. Jeep is shitting a brick right now.

3. Ford is going to sell an absolute ass-load of these things.

4. I need a second job.
