Let me start with I am trying to post some of my off-road drives in hopes to help some of you out there who might not know if your rig can do a certain trail. I know that I sometimes don’t know if mine will even after I do some research. So here is my build. 2023 2 door black diamond with a 2” rough country puck lift and 35” skinny tires. 255/85/17. And a rock jock front sway bar. So not a real hardcore built rig. So now the trail. It is rated 5/6 depending on the app you check. I made it through the whole trail with very minimal scraping. Probably could have done it without any, with better wheel placement, but I was leading the group so no one really spotting me. 😂 4 doors will probably scrap in a few spots due to the long wheelbase. And there are a couple of pull in and back down or up spots that 4 doors will need to do. I made it fine with a 2 or 3 point turn in my 2 door. We had one guy with us the had a Braptor and he could not do the whole trail because he could not make it through the squeeze at the devils kitchen. Overall it was amazing, with fun obstacles and beautiful scenery. It is an hour and 45 minutes from Moab. But well worth the drive.

I guess my video files are too big to add.

Great little trip report. I'm sad that in my several trips to Moab, I never had everything line up to do this trail (correct vehicle, correct time of year, and the right day to do the long drive out to the Needles and back). I actually tried to start it with a 2004 Silverado 1500 in my "less informed" years and chickened out after the first few tenths of a mile :). Probably was a good choice to bail.

I figure I'm screwed until I have a lower width vehicle. I feel like there is no way in hell your Raptor flares would survive this (plus I imagine hitting your roof if you get into side lean would be very easy).

It does seem like some folks have gotten big things through this (like a F150 Raptor on 37s), but usually with some form of body damage.

I am heading to Moab again this spring and would love to hit this trail! Did you need to use lockers at any point?
Yes I did use my locker. I only have a rear locker. My friend did it in his gladiator with no locker. But frankly the ford traction control system sucks compared to the Jeep one. And I paid to get a locker so by hell I am going to use it. 😂😂

Yes 100% you would have body damage in a raptor or something bigger. The raptor is at least 10” wider then my black diamond setup.

Nice pics and writeup @AARDVARK122 . Elephant hill is a blast, did it last spring, heading back down in April. I was a bit nervous through the squeeze (37's that poke out a bit more than standard), but no damage.

Haha, I don't think I had ever processed where your avatar image was taken from. What was the damage bill from that experience? ;)
I didn't want to turn around plus I was camping at Devil's Kitchen. I removed the rear driver flare and squeezed through, but not before I scuffed up that flare and also hit the roof panels against the wall.

Elephant Hill and Chesler Park are amazing. I highly recommend the additional

drive to the overlook of the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, on the way back from Chesler Park. It makes for a very long but even more rewarding day.
