UPDATED Dec 11:

Looks like the owner received a new engine from Ford (12-10-2022).
The Bronco Raptor had factory defects with cracked heads.
In addition, Ford replaced the engine with a 2-year warranty and an extended warranty on the vehicle.
Lets hope the owner has better luck this time!

ORIGINAL POST:

Saw this on Facebook. Not a pretty sight.

Evidently this Bronco Raptor had cracked heads and experienced catastrophic engine failure with only 300 miles on the ODO. The poster says that Ford is going to replace the engine.

If true, this is disturbing news. Are the 3.0L engines about to go through what the 2.7L engines went through?

Well that's not what the 2.7l engines went through so I would say no.

Nope , I’d tell them You want a factory new one… not one with a new motor dropped in at the dealer. I wouldn’t feel good about that big of an issue on an 80+- vehicle.
Literally not what’s going to happen

but if you want unrealistic demands, demand something like a derpzilla or a w16, heck some type of top fuel with a wheelie bar and a parachute

Cracked heads? I'd venture to guess a lack of coolant or a bad water pump.

Ford obviously has some serious quality control issues. Friend had the 2.7 in the Wildtrack replaced along with transmission at 90 miles. Her's is being lemon lawed, buy back.

I would push hard for a buy back. At the very least 8 years warranty. Un acceptable to have engine failure with this few miles.

I had a friend get a warranty replacement on the great 5.2, then the engine they pulled out of the warehouse, had a startup knock. he got it lemmoned and bought a C7.
