I am not a fan of those flares either but to me it looks 100% better when those giant flares are painted to match the body. Looks more Raptor like to me too. I dont know why Ford couldn't have done this for the launch.

FORD was trying to keep the F150 Raptor DNA (Fenders) The rear fenders are defintely a triibute to the rear fenders on the Gen 2 and Gen 3 F150 Raptors....someone thought it was spot-on when they deigned it....a miss in my book but mostly addressed with body colored paint match....not a raptor trademark ...but defintely better looking. Maybe the ugly fenders (which appear to serve their intended function --covering a much wider track and trying to keep rock and dirt spray from destroying the exterior) will slow the ADM on the vehicle ....mall crawlers tend to only like what looks good?? I am more excited about a better powertrain ...the current 2.7 (which is going through some reliability issues now and the weak link transmission ---give us the good 10 speed not this junk)

Cheers

Thanks everyone! Look forward to seeing future versions from Ford with painted flares or after market. Sad to see them release this, with such a flaw to the look. Otherwise this thing is pretty sick. Agree they could have found a way to paint these that excuse is silly.

I don’t believe this. If so it could easily get changed in future retooling.
Are you calling Doug a LIAR??!

do we know if these flares come off like regular bronco?
They may not but are certainly not part of the fender and are attached in some way.

I'm calling bullshit on that. If Ford can paint a dually, they can paint this. Besides, they can paint parts before they're installed.
We already know OBX flares are painted off the body or you'd have primer/e-coat under them. This is no different.

Two bad it's not a two door
A stretched 2dr would have been really cool but would have added a bunch more tooling expense. I do see how they wouldn't want the standard 2dr wheelbase for high speed.

So are the front and rear fenders exactly the same as every other bronco?

Looks better with paint, for sure, but man I just can’t get myself to like it. Those fenders are huge! It’s like a roided weightlifter.

Painted looks better for sure, but I also am not a fan of painted flares on a Bronco or Wrangler. I don't have a solution to this, other than if they tapered them differently.

Oh well, not my problem. I love my Badlands :)

Eh, I thought it would look way better painted, but honestly it's a very minor improvement.

I think I rather have a MIC fender that I can replace/remove easily over a painted fender that I would be worried about beating up.

Would be curious what a Shadow Black painted Raptor would look like... may be a good a good way to keep the MIC fenders and yet still have it blend in with the body color better,

What color is that Bronco? Looks too orange to be the Hot Pepper Red.

No, the actual FENDERS are slightly buldged...

The FLARES, are hideous... Painted does look better.

Just as a PSA: Let's not use fenders and flares interchangeably. Two different parts.
