I’m saying if sticker says 24 you’ll get 19. Sticker is fictitious. Like they’re driving 55mph on salt flats with a wind blowing in the direction they’re going.
Well that I agree with. My sticker was 19/31. When I ran the Michelin (Energy savers or whatever they were) I got 27 MPG average (good portion was highway driving, but I have a heavy foot always, so city didn't help ). Now with 213k miles on her and different brand tires, I'm sitting in the 24-25 average. I would NEVER expect to get the full rated highway miles, that's just silly.

My comment earlier was directed at a preposterous comment about something.. I don't even remember, nor do I care to go back and look.

In the end, we appear to agree on something. Works for me.

So why is there an an Explorer on the cover photo? Only @Administrator knows for sure, but this is B6G. Let's over analyze the hell out of this. 😁

Ford Bronco Bronco Specialist Says 2021 Bronco MPG May Be Comparable to Expedition giphy

So why an Explorer? Maybe that's what we should be looking at for MPG. The Expedition comparison was just a way to trick Jeep into throwing another obnoxious motor into the Wrangler. V10 Wrangler comes out next Spring.

2021 Ford Explorer with 2.3L AWD: 20 City/27 Highway or 23 Combined

Sweet! Case closed.

.

... but if you look closer, Doug didn't just use any picture of an Explorer, he used the Platinum model.

That model with its 3.0L AWD gets 18 City/24 Highway or 20 Combined

.

So, that's the clue. A fully loaded 4DR Wildtrak will get 20 Combined MPG!

There is no free lunch getting the larger/heavier versions. That extra 1000lbs will have some negative impact on performance (acceleration/handling), mpg and overall feel of the vehicle.

Some people need the 4-door capacity. Just realize there are pluses and minuses. You can't add 1000lbs with no effect.

Why are good gas mileage and rugged outdoor capabilities mutually exclusive in 2021? Can’t we get both? Why do so many people fight this? It will save you money!!

Wish I was smart enough to design my own... 50 MPG , able to leap boulders on a single tire and 0-60 in 3.7 seconds... I’d be rich!

in reality though, there would still be constant complaints because I left off a cup holder or it couldn’t haul an elephant in the cargo space... not to mention the lack of color options

Sounds reasonable. I still got low 20s on my 2016 Expy with an Icon lift and 33s. On my Bronco Sport I'm averaging 2.5 mpg above the epa figures after 3400 miles!

This also validates the 3.0 rumor for 22.
