I should of known better to start this on a work week. Problem I'm having is finding a good ground point to the rear driver back seat. Most people ground to the seat bolts, but the way they are elevated, I cant get a good solid ground. Tonight i will try pulling the back left panel out and see if there is a grounding point on either side. 2 doors don't seem to have any kind of soft top grounding point like in the PP5 video. So might have to use my imagination.

the quality of the sound is night and day different to me. Instead of being muddled, flat, and sounding like it’s coming out of a cardboard tube it’s extremely clear with solid and strong tones. I am honestly blown away it made that much difference.
Your description is exactly what I used when I test drove a WT with standard sound over the summer. I'm glad to see just adding the front speakers was such a difference and will be replacing at least the fronts and rears. I've read the kick panel speakers aren't really a huge difference but will wait for general consensus before writing those off.

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out exactly which brand and model speakers to get. I might wait and see what Amazon puts on sale next week for Black Friday.

These sound pretty good, and are 40% off right now: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B8TKWS1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Although, it was a PITA to pull off 2 of the mounting points on the speaker (The 4 won't fit, at least in the rear, without pulling 2 off. The Bronco speakers only have 2 mounting points).

I also like these for the front (don't fit in the back, the middle part of the speaker sits up too high and presses on the factory grill) https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13699040/JL-Audio-C1-400x.html

I replaced the kick panel speakers (https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13699042/JL-Audio-C1-650x.html), and can hear a difference, especially at higher volumes. But I agree with most others, best bang for your buck is swapping out the fronts. If I would do it again, I'd probably go to a store and test out some higher end front speakers.

I finished upgrading the speakers in my Big Bend this past weekend and wanted to give those interested some information that may help--

My Big Bend came equipped with the standard 6-Speaker system and I simply wanted to upgrade the speakers to give the stereo a little better sound. I previously owned a 2017 Jeep JK Sahara that I used some Kicker speakers so I decided to go the same route as I liked the sound from the Kickers.

I got 2 pairs of 4in (46CSC44) and 1 pair of 6.5in (46CSC654) Kicker CS speakers. From my previous install on the Jeep, I learned that using speaker baffles was a good idea so I also purchased Boom Mat speaker baffles. For the 4in speakers, I used some Posi-Twist connectors and added a pair of 300Hz Bass Blockers for the front only.

For the 6.5in I used the Metra 82-5605 Mounting Brackets as well as the Metra 72-5602 Wiring Harness.

The speaker installation was straightforward the most time-consuming part is taking apart all the plastic trim which I am so glad some on the forum had already submitted so I was ready with all the appropriate trim removal tools and knowledge.

I have included the documentation I used to remove the trim panels and wiring diagram and well as photos of the install and of the products I used.

I hope this information will be useful for some.

EDIT:
I am adding some pigtail connector diagrams that were submitted by another user on the forum (credit to FLIP). The diagrams will show color wires and their polarity.

This is really a great job. I am looking for a specific answer I don't believe I have found yet. Are the speakers for the kick and dash wired separately from the head unit? Or more specifically , does the head unit see each speaker as a 4ohm draw all around or are the fronts seen as a 2ohm draw and the rear speakers seen as a 4ohm draw. Hope the question makes sense.

There are 4 panels plus the handle and the plastic cover for the foot rest that need to be popped out. There are 2 10mm bolts holding the foot panel down. You have to use a extension to remove them.

Super Thin tabs on the panels, use caution when removing. This one on the speaker wire and one on the Foot rest panel broke off.

Used a drill bit to puncture the rubber grommet slightly larger than the power cable to run into engine bay. Not shown in picture. Also my finger nails got dirty and I burned my finger on the soldering iron. So I would recommend wearing gloves.

Was going to connect to amp fuse but ended up using 21, because it was only hot while the truck was on. Chart shows unused which worked out perfect

I tried D-pinning the connector, successful with one, but ended up having to cut and solder the other one of the two that are on this plug.

They had this at the local Auto Zone, I went ahead and purchased some extra 10amp micro2 fuses. I believe it is the unused fuse location 21 if i remember correctly.

You can see the location in the fuse box here. This is the Blue wire off the amp harness that sends a 12v signal to the sub/amp to turn on and off the sub. It is not powered 100% of the time, only when the key is turned to the on position.

The sub will not fit under the seat on the 2 door without making modification to the carpet. For some reason there is a hump in the carpet but there is nothing underneath it. Maybe for a higher end model component ? I will leave mine in this position.

The back seat is able to fold down without touching the amp/sub.

Anyone have any luck with a under seat powered sub like this? https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20611HS8/Kicker-11HS8.html

I'm not looking for anything crazy (or obvious, still have some PTSD from having after market systems stolen as a kid), but looking for a little more base than what I currently have. I've already upgraded the fronts and kick panels.

I'd like to try and tap into the kick panel speakers, I don't know if plugging into the factory head unit will work, and it looks like a real PITA to even access.
Tapped into KP speakers and mounted the Kicker 11HS8 to the back of the rear seat. What a difference the sound is with all the speakers replaced.

I think you are asking if the speakers are wired in parallel or series. they speak about it on this post and the OP might have some answers for you if you send him a message directly.

How did you tap into the KP speakers exactly? Did you need to tap into both sides and/or buy additional hardware/wires/connections/etc.?

I'm totally new to this so sorry for being obtuse!

Wiring comes with sub. Tapped both. Do not tap into rears

Updated the pictures and notes, Sorry for the shit show, it has been a very stressful week for me.
A lot of that stuff is out of order and cryptic, but def worth doing. Was Jamming out driving around tonight, where as before I was NOT. Everyone absolutely needs to upgrade to a sub when you get your bronco.
