Oh no. That’s the point. Hit the big red button…..crash😂. But someone is claiming it’s my fault and it must be only me. Despite the king thread here right others experiencing it, or the reviews on App Store with others experiencing it. But gotta be just me right.
I figured out that you have to do things in a particular order.
1. Make sure Bronco Trail App is NOT running on your Android phone.
2. Start you Bronco and allow Android Auto to connect.
3. Select the Bronco Trail App on the Sync4 screen in the Bronco
4. Once you have the map displayed in the Bronco, press the [camera] icon.
5. It will say that you have to start the app on your phone. Now go ahead and start it on your phone.
6. Suddenly, you will see the video being shot from the camera in your phone on the Sync4 screen.
7. You will have to mount your phone to your windshield or dash.

Note: when you start driving the screen goes black but it is still recording. When you stop the video displays again. When you hit the [<] button the recording ends. The actual video file is on you phone and the overlay of the roll/pitch, speed, rpm, etc. shows up on the recorded video not the live display.

Hope this helps... figured it out by trial and error.

Glad you got it to work for you. I'm on iPhone. But at the end of the day, there's shouldn't be 10 convluted steps that users have to discover by "trial and error" to figure how to use features in this app. Just my opinion.

There are so many bizarre features (and lack of features).
Honestly, I think Ford wanted free testing and feedback from the B6G crowd so they just released a bare-bones shell of an app for us to help develop/fix 😜
This is totally what happened, maybe they had a dev team change or something cuz being two years apart in an estimate for app development is well.... expensive. Also, i have to be honest about one thing. The color scheme and trail plots they have are excellent. I hope more features come in time, but with the content that they do have, they offered an excellent UI to preview before you hit the trail.

There seems to be a vast majority of us all a little underwhelmed by the app. All we can hope for is updates, and big ones.
In the mean time, I made my analogy in the form of a video. Enjoy

Just subscribe to OnX Off-road and be done with it.

This did not work for me. I hope they figure it out and release an update.
