Heat shrink works as well. What's interesting is the Ford TSB fix has the tech use grease on each locator pin (one at at time) until the noise goes away. Then they REPLACE the affected latch or locator pin assembly.

I went to this TSB and it says to use approved products on the hard top. Went to the Vehicle Manual, under Care, it DOES NOT list any brands of products to use.
I have been using 303 Protectant on the hard top. 2 treatments since picking up my Bronco in July. It seems to be doing very well, a light shine and has UV protectant. When I received my Bronco the top looks very good, but, if you look really hard, you can see a very light honeycomb look to it. I am going to believe this is normal.....but not as we have seen in many photos.
I know others here are using 303 Protectant also.
ANY OPINIONS ON USING 303?
If Ford suggests they have a list of products to use, then maybe they should provide it.
In the Manual they do list in a generic section all Motorcraft Brand products, but, do not state anything specifically to use on the hardtop.

Second update.
The window rattle fix went well except for the last 3 inches. When the windows were cracked about 2-3"s, teh rattle was fierce. Took it back and they are adjusting today. It is a trial and error.

We are also in for the Soft Top Scratches and Roll Bar fix so will update that TSB as well.
Dealer has been excellent as I have been their test bed and appreciate me leaving it for extended days if necessary.

Thanks for that. Mine doesn't quite fold right, but I think I don't have wear because I've been straightening the fabric every time by hand.

Great info. Window rattle is rather annoying, especially when I have to tell family members to roll up their windows on a warm day to make it stop.

50711 Report - I took mine in for this window slap when down 2-4". The adjustment fixed the issue and now I have no slap at all. They did order new weatherstrip the window rests against, but even without that the issue is resolved.

Called the dealer about 22-2146 to try and prevent my roll cage from being scratched by the soft top, and they said they can only do the TSB once there's an actual issue, i.e., once the roll cage is actually scratched

Went back and forth about how it is preventative and the rep kept saying "I understand, it makes sense, but @Ford Motor Company won't let us address the issue until you experience it."

i'm taking mine in tomorrow for this soft top edge wear issue as well as the soft top rubbing my paint at the rear fender top on each side.

I suggest putting a strip of PPF/Clear bra on the top of the rear quarters for either top setup to help avoid the rub.

Thanks for posting this. Do you have drawings or photos of the new deflectors? I’m curious about what specifically changed from the old design to the new design? Normally, the TSB would show photos of the new parts, either during installation or afterwards.

Issue resolved. I am satisfied and appreciate Heiser Ford Service for hunting the problem down Inch by Inch. There is still a little rattle but only happens when the window is barely cracked open. It was a hunting expedition that took two visits.
