Well, to be fair, those were pretty mildly modified 4runners as far as performance upgrades go, but they probably had a literal ton of weight they were carting around with them. I bet a 4runner with no additional weight on 35's would probably have done about as good as the Bronco...ground clearance would be more the deciding factor than anything else.

If you ever find yourself coming to San Angelo, drop me a PM...there's a decent place to crawl out here if you have an hour or two to kill.

His 4Runner is a heavy and massive overland build, the Bronco has a little bit of stuff built in to the back but not like the 4Runner

To be honest, with their added weight, it’s not really a fair comparison. What was funny, in the second episode to the series, we hit some grease mud and their weight helped get to the hard soil below vs me just floating on top.

What kind of tires did the 4runner have?
Well one of them (the first one) had 285/75R17's, actually the same tires I have on my 4runner right now. The other 4runner's tires appear to be very similar in size. Theoretically (not all tire mfg's match stated size to actual size), the Bronco's tires are only 1.2" wider and .6" taller, so there's not a ton of difference in tire size.

Were you running the stock Goodyear tire?
Yes sir. The jury is still out if I like them. I've ran BFG KO2 for 20 years. The stock tires on the bronco are louder on the road, and time will tell if they hold up.
