Get something from England made in the 60's. That will give you all the driving pleasure you need. Manual and the ability to go around corners.
Ha, my late dad collected British roadsters (had at least 6 Triumphs in various states of disrepair and a '63 Lotus Elite); 'Driving pleasure' could only be used to describe them if your idea of 'pleasure' is having to repair a hose/cable/etc. on the side of the road every single time you drove it. I borrowed his most 'reliable' TR4 for a day and had to repair the seized parking brake in a Quiznos parking lot. Just buy a Miata; all the same fun, but they don't break nonstop.

I had no idea the GTI->Bronco contingent was so big. I guess they both have a similar following, despite being wholly different vehicles. There are probably only like a half-dozen modern cars that know exactly what they are and do it perfectly, and the GTI is one of them.

I’ve really started looking at my manual 4wd options, which is what brought me to the Bronco in the first place.

Jeep and Toyota, right? That’s the only options?
I love my Tacoma, but really don’t want a new one. Jeep gladiators/wranglers seem way over priced.

im actually starting to look at a mid 70s Chevy and doing a ground up resto/mod.

Get a mach1 mustang and then supercharge it through ford. It has all of the gt350 parts and transmission.

How about an FJ? Or an XTerra?

I had a 2011 FJ that never really did much for me. I would not pay the premium for one now. It’s amazing how they’ve held their value. Would certainly welcome a Toyota reboot of the FJ with removable top.

I sure hope they're watching this whole thing closely and seriously considering that business case.

Yeah, I know it’d be $20-25K on top of purchase price.
I’m also just considering buying a plane and not getting a new vehicle at all, but that’s a whole nother level of bad decisions.

unless its a bush plane its not worth it.

This shit is going to be bananas. Cant wait to see the first 500 HP 2.3 manual Bronco. its all Focus RS trickle down. just copy and paste for the most part. some differences in block. we have a milder cam.

How do y'all handle driving a manual in traffic"
I prefer it. In traffic there is always some idiot I want to get around. Downshift hard and whip around him...

He he he true dat. I already do that in my little car with the awesome torque, with the Bronco, not so much. But I think the size of the Bronco will make up for the lack of torque.
