I’ve always had Fords (Explorer, Escape, F150, Ranger) and I’m pretty sure they all had lights. I don’t really care but I have definitely noticed this not having one. Perfect classification of a “quirk” and nkt really a problem lol
Sorry for the dumb question but was it supposed to? Have other confirmed it does? I didn’t even think about it. But my current car doesn’t have one either and it’s a luxury vehicle 😂🤷🏻‍♀️
Haven't seen one in years. My 67 Galaxie had one I think. They went away with front window vents. LOL.

In case you didn't know, the rear view mirror slides up and down. I have it pushed all the way up, helps a bit with view and tiny windshield.
I think I might be stupid, but I tried to do this and didn't have any success. Maybe mine was already all the way up from the day I got it?

I can never remember if you're supposed to pull/push to engage, so I avoid it altogether.
It's just like a lever. You'd pull it to lock, push it down to unlock. Plus it disengages automatically when you hit the gas, so you only need to remember how to engage/lock it: up. And gently.

Yes! This is super annoying. It's like they designed it for someone who is 5'2" tall.
I know how the tailgate works. The strut sucks, period.
I think the true question is how short are you. Its been listed several times 😂
I'm 6'1". I do not have this problem. Ya'll must be seated weird.

2. Climate control function. I hit the button for the floor/dash/defrost, and then have to make my actual selection on the touchscreen. Am I missing something here? Maybe some honoring of the heritage can go towards more knobs and levers.
This is the quirk I was looking for. The entire AC thing is weird. You can turn on the AC, and it might only come out the defrost vents instead of the front. You have to cycle through the options on/off to get it where you want. And then there's the touch screen element... it's all just a little weird that I might just need to sit and read the manual. But I'd hope AC would be more intuitive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sometimes it hard to see the street lights so I have to stop way behind the line. I’ll live
LightInSight Traffic Light Lens... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FN9L2X7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Get this, I have the same issue being 6'6. Let's me see the lights and it's just a vinyl(?) sticker that stays on with water that can be moved to where you want if you don't like the position.

Being tall, and sitting further back, I have no issues seeing my screen or the speedo. Y'all must be sitting high and close to the dash for that issue.

My crawler gear likes to jump out randomly if I don't hold it in. Also the parking brake gets confused if you let off the clutch in neutral to fast while turning off your car. Had a couple of scary moments so now I always park the car in gear to avoid it rolling if it decides to disengage the parking brake.
Why would you not park it in gear  ? That is standard practice for a manual transmission. Forward gear if facing uphill with the wheels turned to the street & reverse if facing downhill with the wheels tuned into curb.

I feel bad for even pointing this out if people haven't noticed it yet. I dont know if this is on every trim or just the Outer Banks but the rear bumper on the passenger side is just slightly lower from the body than the driver side. I thought it was just a defect on mine but Ive noticed it in every video I've seen of the Outer Banks.

Not sure if this is a quirk but as someone else mentioned the amount of snow that gets thrown on to the rear fender flares is insane. Will be adding mud flaps and possibly some side steps to help. I had easily 3” of snow on there after a drive and it started to freeze and then opening the rear door became an issue.

seat belt buckle rubs against pillar in two door.
It sits right the tight spot between seat and pillar and bumps whenever seat is slid forward
Well that’s going to drive me nuts when I get mine

Is it just me, or when I go to tune the channel, it pops up a different menu, and sometimes just goes from say channel 35 to 994 instead of 34 or 36?

Wonder if that's one of the things that your tactile senses will pick up on once you're accustomed to it?

Worst thing for me is that even with front mud flaps the amount of dirt (mud, snow, ice, road dirt) that gets caught on the rear wheel fenders, and then when you open the door, the door scrapes it off the fender. If there is a lot of sand/rocks the door is getting the edge ground by all that dirt. I installed some door edge guard along that small strip just to deal with this. We shall see how well the edging holds up. Once I get my Rhino D6 sliders installed this should almost get rid of this but still annoying.

Also how you have to slam the door like a Wrangler to get them fully closed. Otherwise this vehicle is freaking awesome!

This has been my first actual design complaint. I live in Alaska, and when ice builds up on the fenders like this, the door really grinds across it. Seems like the kind of thing that could have been spotted in testing, but I’m just a simpleton.

Any other “quirks” I’ve experienced are nitpicks at most, and they’ve all been mentioned by multiple people already:
- Sliver of window to see through when visor is down
- Notable dearth of miscellaneous storage space.

My recirculating air turns off periodically while on the hwy. Then it seems like it’s on high/7 instead of 1 or 2 where it was at. I put the recirculate back on and sometimes it goes back to the way it was and sometimes it doesn’t. At least not for a couple more minutes.
The F150 over-rides in Windshield defog mode - but if you set to mix you can recirc.

Mine doesn't have a light in the glove box!
mine doesn't either but i thought that was by design. don't know why they wouldn't have a light in there but my jeep didn't either. what bothers me is the light near the 12v outlet in the back doesn't light up when i open the rear hatch.
