exactly. makes no sense to launch something like this at midnight. you do it when you have staff available for fire drills.

This would be true if this was a team operating on agile and devops or even just a QA site to roll out to first. But the tweaks and changes on the Ford site point to a team testing in production. Midnight is probably the only time they're comfortable possibly crashing the site of their own accord, let alone due to traffic.
