It's important to me and I'm proud to be buying an American made vehicle. However, I am a bit concerned given the mess of a launch Ford had with the 2020 Explorer and Aviator. I love my wife's Aviator, but it had a ton of build quality issues that needed to be addressed.

Eh, Ill say not important. Its as simple as make something I like, and I'll buy it.
Truthfully I'd feel better if the Bronco was made in the same factory in Japan that my FJ was.

I would say in light of recent events our economy needs people to purchase American products. I was looking at the 4Runner before Ford released the Bronco, and it really got me thinking about changing my plans. I think if Ford can match the value of the 4Runner at the same price tag I will definitely keep my reservation. Right now I feel the 4Runner is the bench mark so Ford has to show up
The Black Diamond Bronco trim is almost spec for spec what the Trail Teams FJ and 4Runner are to Toyota... slap some 33's on that bad boy bronco and you have a vehicle that competes on all aspects for a few thousand less than a current 4Runner... Coming from someone who has driven over 1mil miles on Toyota Off-Road gear, I am super hyped to purchase an American made vehicle with close to the same capability of the wrangler and reliability of the toyo… I hope the teams out in Michigan are going to knock the quality fit and finish out of the park on this one... the world is watching

Boy oh Boy people are going to hate my response.

I generally do not want my vehicle assembled in the united states as the UAW is the most corrupt union in the developed world.

I was a launch engineer - that means I literally lived in the plants doing technical work. The shit I saw union workers get away with day in and day out was incredible. They are not fireable. They borderline would have to murder a man to get canned.

Every single day I watched these dudes get BOMBED in the parking lot and then come into the plant and shittly assemble your vehicle that I assure you was well engineered and designed.

There is zero accountability and that is what leads to most quality issues that customers report.

its bad. very bad.

The plant in Japan that assembles 4runners currently is a gold standard. The one that is going to produce the bronco? Not so much...
Not exactly a socialist but based on how the tech industry has basically imported slave labor and killed an entire generation of college educated kids who learned how to code and other IT stuff. I dont care. Let the UAW get drunk in the parking lot

as long as its americans i dont give a shit. Corporations that are not loyal enough to hire americans should be taxed 2x their competitors who do.

I like it in the fact that we are employing American's to build American vehicles. However, it would not be a deal breaker if they didn't.

I’m AFL-CIO and prefer to own vehicles built by AFL-CIO labor, and always have, but I also understand the global nature of commerce and wouldn’t disqualify foreign-built automobiles. I’ve always owned American-made (usually locally made :)) vehicles though and it appears I’ll continue to do so.

I don't really care where a car is built if it meets my needs/wants and it competently put together. Although since it's an American brand I do vastly prefer that it's made in the USA. Most of the cars I've bought don't come from their home country though..

Italian car built in Japan
Italian car built in Mexico
Japanese truck built in USA

I think both my Hyundais were built in Korea at least..

If you don’t mind my asking are you planning on buying the Bronco? Or would you recommend something else? I for one was planning on purchasing a 4Runner until I saw the Bronco. For me the 4Runner is proven and has the durability/reliability most competitors idolize; the bench mark. I have reserved the Bronco and want to give Ford a shot but I am gonna make sure the Bronco hits all the marks for me to be able to make a decision. I don’t see myself loosing out if I move on the 4Runner.

I'm coming out of a 16 4Runner TRD Pro. I can tell you that you won't find a better built vehicle. Toyota's problem is that they are way too conservative. They are so far behind everything else as far as tech and features. For 2021 Toyota gave the 4Runner LED lights. If you want a very well built reliable suv and can live without all of the creature comforts then you will love the 4Runner.

Not much at all. That just means it was assembled in USA. Most of the parts probably come from overseas anyway.
