Not my first question here about screws 😖😖😖 I have a great license plate mount from forum member Walt Stanford that I’d love to use but can’s get these screws loose for the life of me. What am I doing wrong?!

I remember these being a bear to take off when I mounted my DV8 plate holder. More elbow grease is what did it. Make sure you have the right Torx (I hear the next size down can almost feel right). Also, you might see if you have a longer handled ratchet or a pipe you can put around it to lengthen the lever arm.

Thank you for making me feel less ridiculous by admitting it’s not an easy task- I will do what you suggested!

Try a Torx Plus bit / they are just a bit different and will get you a bit more on it before they strip. Can also try just a dab of valve grinding compound in there for a bit extra grip if it does start to strip

If I recall those are TP30 size

Also, PB Blaster and let it soak

Sure, bolts getting stuck is a PITA. @Brian_B makes a good point about not stripping the bolt head. With these I like to put the palm of my other hand firmly on the back of the ratchet so it doesn't wobble and slowly but firmly turn the handle until it starts to move. If it just doesn't want to let go, look at what he suggested.

Did you try a hand impact driver? I've used the on stubborn countersunk hex head bolts on submarines and has not let me down yet. Be sure the torx size is correct.
