From how hot under my hood seems to get it should work very well almost too well lol. Better have a tight fitting lid if off roading. I dig it for overlanding if you can keep the contents inside the container.

Manifold cookery is an art unto itself. I’ve warmed up food wrapped in foil on an engine but I’ve always wanted to make a rack mounted over an exhaust manifold for heating canned goods and such. Hard to do on modern vehicles but I had a ‘72 land cruiser that would have been perfect for it.

LOL! Years ago my Mom bought a book called "Roughing It Easy" that had all sorts of recipes and cooking times/miles to cook something under the hood. On our next road trip she put a chicken, potatoes and other veggies in foil and off we went in her '77 Dodge Challenger. When we pulled into the rest area and unwrapped our meal, the chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. Unfortunately she didn't wrap it tightly enough and it tasted like motor oil. So off to McDonald's we went. Great idea, though!

I wish I could find the old repair guide for my first car, a 1980 honda civic. It had a chapter on cooking engine chicken It was mostly a joke part of the book

Tried this on my 2.7. With my vented hood it doesn’t work so well. Enough for warm up and reheats but not enough to cook. Little tight for space also Which was a bummer. I’ve been manifold cooking since the late 90’s. Think I’m going to have to rig up a cook box off the new magna flow muffler.

There’s multiple products like this for snowmobiles that attach to the exhaust pipe.

Pro tips, wrap your food in parchment paper first, then aluminum foil. The foil rubs off black onto your food from the vibrations and tastes terrible. For the more sloppy food use oven bags.

Did this with chicken on a 6.0 F-250. Was perfect for tailgating. Bronco seems a bit more challenging. But I like the thought process.
