As-is terrible, maybe... some hope if they are painted? I’d consider a version of painted flares like this:

It's as if the design team was out drinking after work on a Friday night and one of them said "Hey, I wonder if we can design and build the butt ugliest thing you could ever bolt onto a truck?". They look good when the tire sticks out a little past the fender. They make no sense when the wheel is much smaller.
