First time Bronco buyer, I've been looking at prices everyday for certain 2 door trims I want. I need a blend of it being built enough to immediately off road and overland here in Utah, while still being able to mod afterwards. It's weird in Utah because all used prices besides the Wildtrak and Raptors are pretty similar (40-50k for base-badlands, 1,000-30,000 miles). My main choices are the Badlands, sasquatch or with the base 33's, then Black Diamond sasquatch, or even an Everglades for closer to $50k used.

The main questions would be which of those trims would be the most capable off the lot/the most worth it, and If I can get a used 2023/24 badlands/black diamond with 3,000-10,000 miles for $44-$48k, should I do that and build it up? Buy a new black diamond for a similar price, but have to mod it more? Or just send it with a used everglades for $48-$50k and have way more attachments and room right off the lot?

Badlands and Everglades have the much better M210 front differential. Those would be my only choices out of your list.

Badlands has the front sway bar disconnect as well, which is a must have IMO. That can be added after purchase though if you are a savvy DIYer.

Any trim in Sasquatch will have the M210 with front locker, so those work too.

Black Diamond is the budget offroader. Comes standard with steel bumpers, rear locker, etc. They are great for people who don't want to spend a lot and only do forest service roads.

The used Badlands has been my main pick so far for exactly that, I can always lift and put 35's on later if I don't find a sasquatch, but I like how it comes with 33's and the disconnect. Black Diamond would be the most to build and the least capable off the lot, so unless I can get a sasquatch or very lightly used for a good price then I think i'll skip on that one

Go with the Badlands. They are actually my favorite trim.

The Sasquatch suspension is trash, so you aren't gaining anything.

The Badlands actually has better articulation.

The Sasquatch tires suck.

The Sasquatch wheels are ungodly heavy.

The only benefit is 4.70 gears over the Badlands, but... I'd actually rather have the 4.46s.

Badlands non-sasquatch if you're looking to upgrade wheels/tires/lift etc at any time now or future, Badlands Sasquatch if your goal is to swipe the card once and never upgrade anything, Black Diamond Sasquatch. In that order. Also let gearing factor in with the badlands non-sasquatch vs sasquatch issue... not a huge difference but if you go big on tires you'll appreciate having 4.7.

For me the new vs. used argument would strictly come down to what I could find for the right price. Tons of outgoing model year new ones on lots around me.. that's probaby where i'd start

that’s the main reason I want the Badlands, I’ve heard the tires on the Sasquatch aren’t great and pick up all sorts of rocks, and I’m gonna get new wheels on whatever trim I get besides maybe the Everglades

Definitely get the Badlands then.

As I said, I prefer the 4.46 gears, with the V6 and 10 speed, it is PLENTY. I've ran the gear calculations, and 4.46 can handle 35s all day. For 37s, you actually want shorter than 4.70s (5.38s), so again, no huge benefit there.

Oh also 2024 Sasquatch and Badlands get the vastly improved Hoss 3.0 Severe Duty Steering rack. Big benefit over the 2021-2023s. Installing it after the fact is $2000+ with labor.

I went with 2 door BL for all the reasons stated above. The only area I identified for immediate attention is laid out here:

PSA - Get a transmission skid plate or replace the plastic pan | Bronco6G - 2021+ Ford Bronco & Bronco Raptor Forum, News, Blog & Owners Community

you didn't state what transmission you prefer, but my neighbor has a 2D manual BL and I have the 2D auto. I wouldn't dismiss earlier model years as you can find some good deals. In some areas 2 doors aren't in high demand, so cast a wide net.

Look for the HIGH or LUX package so you get the 360 camera with a 12" screen. That also means you have to look at Badlands because you can't get HIGH/LUX in either the Black Diamond or Everglades.

That's why a 2024 seems appealing because they're standard with the 360 cam and 12" screen

Looking for an automatic, what was the problem with the skid plate?

Also 2023 2 door wildtraks are only about $49-$52k for sub 10,000 miles, would a wildtrak be a good option? I'd have to do virtually nothing aftermarket

That's not correct. All 2024's do get the 12" screen, but not the 360 camera. That's still a HIGH/LUX only option and not available on any Black Diamond or Everglades. Co-Pilot360 and the 360 camera are 2 different features.

Oh thanks for the heads up, High and Lux packages aren’t deal breakers for me, but the 360 cams and upgraded speakers would be super nice
