Thanks for all the hard work. It's on my short list with Cyber Orange. Wife wants Oxford White, but have too many white cars in past.

First off - thanks for all of the hard work.
This color has been my choice since day 1 after seeing that reveal Bronco with the white top and handles. I was going to make that combo happen one way or the other.
However, if I understand correctly, CG looks NOTHING like the color of that reveal Bronco 😔
Or is it that the white top and accents make me see the color as a more minty green grey? Sooo frustrating. Now I’m thinking Area 51. 🤷🏼‍♂️
How does this color compare to Toyota’s Lunar Rock color? I’ve seen that in person in a RAV4 and love it - bits it’s definitely got a good green hue to it.
It’s so daunting to be spending 70K$ (CDN with taxes) on a vehicle that you never get to see in person to chose color. 😨

I would say, comparing with what he's shown us in great detail, that Lunar Rock reacts to it's environment just like Catus Gray does.

I've seen Lunar Rock in person, since I have a cousin that recently got a Rav4 in that color, but as of yet haven't seen anything in Jet Fighter Gray/Catus Gray in my area. I've only seen a Cement Gray Tacoma, which seems 'closer' to Catus Gray in tone, but even then it's not a really good comparison.

Late edit:
If I were to rank them from lightest 'tone' to darkest 'tone' based on what I've seen in person and in this thread it would be :: Lunar Rock ->Cactus Gray -> Cement Gray -> Sting Gray (Jeep). If the op were to luck out and find a couple Toyota's in those color, then compare them like the Jeep, it might change the order, but that would be a lot more work on top of all the work they've done already.

The color corrected pictures are exactly what I wanted in CG. Thank you for the comparison

Anyone familiar with Porsche's "Chalk" color? Do you think that Cactus Gray will be similiar/close?

Just because I cannot leave well enough alone, I bought the touchup paint for Jet Fighter Gray and applied it to test samples today.
In the case of Cactus Gray (CG), there is just not 'well enough' information available.

Long post, sorry. Lots of photos.

This photo and color is the closest approximation to what I see and how it appears in-hand.

More blue than green in CIE-L *ab color measurements.

The breakdown...

The black looks like regular carbon black in the supernatant.; however, there is a blue/green tint in the pellet (polymer) fraction.

One more thing...
Because I'm 'that guy', I've included RL comparison with Sting Gray (Jeep). Yes, I did ask permission to take these photos.

Note on the lighting:
It was about 5pm, cloudy (Delta's fault).

Personal note: I do like this color. It is dynamic and is a "Local Color" paint. It changes color based on your perception and the light/colors around it.
I will keep the samples and revisit the photos on a sunny day in the future.
And that's why I love this forum. Great job!

@Lab00Rat This is awesome. I am on the fence between CG and A51, as I know many others are in the same boat. Any chance you will be doing this same analysis with A51?

Edit: or any chance you already have done this?
A51 was eliminated by the COO. I have no plans to do a color comparison or analysis of A51, sorry. She is leaning to CO or CG at this time (she's more CO right now and I'm more CG).

I will say that if you are looking for a milspec color, this is a very close choice. It reminds me of jet fighter gray and navy haze gray. Although, a black MIC top would be better to pull the milspec look together than the current gray MIC top. Just saying.

More comparisons...
I tried to find Toyota Lunar Rock, but was only able to get Dodge Destroyer Gray and Cement. Maybe next time I'll get lucky and find Toyota Lunar Rock.

Looks a tad greener than the cement. I love it!!!
