I think Cactus Gray will be similar to Toyota's Cement Gray. Here's a few pics of my Sting Gray Rubicon next to my Cement TRD PRO.

It's much lighter than either of these gray colors.

However, it's still gray. Next to these, it will have a greenish tint, but it's still gray.

It's good that this color is exactly what some people wanted but I must admit I was hoping for something closer to this I suppose...

I was hoping for a true green too, but there is no green in this color. Only the perception of green under the right conditions.

@Lab00Rat

This is awesome work, thank you for doing this and posting the results!

My wife has wanted CG the whole time and I’ve been on the fence between CG and A51. This has helped make my decision and my wife happy as we’ll have a CG 4dr #Badsquatch in our driveway!

I wanted to like CG but it leans towards the brighter side of the spectrum and acts like a chameleon with different light. It can look almost light gray to aquamarine and I prefer green or gray not optical illusions. So, still on the fence but would have preferred a Matt green or tan like was rendered on a recent post that Ford should have built. Close but no cigar. What does anyone else think?

BTW thanks for color correcting the paint samples and posting.

Do you think that the MIC gray hard top and gray grille on a Badlands will be enough to make it appear like it has a green tint most of the time?

No. This color is dynamic to it's environment. It's gray first. The perception of a green or blue is dependent on the lighting and the local colors. If you focus on the carbonized gray, it will appear greenish in full light (a bit washed out tho). Otherwise think of this as a magic color that will always be the color you might want at the right time.

I was showing the paint sample to my daughter and making it change color by placing it next to dark gray (blue/green), then next to the grass (gray), then next to the beige motorhome (green). She thought it was super strange and cool.

The one thing I can say is that it's a dynamic neutral color. You better remember where you parked because it might not be the same color when you get back.
