I would say, comparing with what he's shown us in great detail, that Lunar Rock reacts to it's environment just like Catus Gray does.First off - thanks for all of the hard work.
This color has been my choice since day 1 after seeing that reveal Bronco with the white top and handles. I was going to make that combo happen one way or the other.
However, if I understand correctly, CG looks NOTHING like the color of that reveal Bronco ?
Or is it that the white top and accents make me see the color as a more minty green grey? Sooo frustrating. Now I’m thinking Area 51. ??
How does this color compare to Toyota’s Lunar Rock color? I’ve seen that in person in a RAV4 and love it - bits it’s definitely got a good green hue to it.
It’s so daunting to be spending 70K$ (CDN with taxes) on a vehicle that you never get to see in person to chose color. ?
To be fair, its kind like he laid it on a pile of dog poo and said "Does this color look nice".

The black looks like regular carbon black in the supernatant.; however, there is a blue/green tint in the pellet (polymer) fraction.

Because I'm 'that guy', I've included RL comparison with Sting Gray (Jeep). Yes, I did ask permission to take these photos.
Note on the lighting:
It was about 5pm, cloudy (Delta's fault).
Personal note: I do like this color. It is dynamic and is a "Local Color" paint. It changes color based on your perception and the light/colors around it.
I will keep the samples and revisit the photos on a sunny day in the future.
A51 was eliminated by the COO. I have no plans to do a color comparison or analysis of A51, sorry. She is leaning to CO or CG at this time (she's more CO right now and I'm more CG).

I tried to find Toyota Lunar Rock, but was only able to get Dodge Destroyer Gray and Cement. Maybe next time I'll get lucky and find Toyota Lunar Rock.

Concrete or grout? hahaha thanks for that. Is it weird that the color or lack of color is starting to grow on me?! lolPaint can from the event and the closest I was able to capture it looking like it does to my eye. My other shots appear to have colorization that is not what the eye sees. If the can is truly THE color, then it is light colored, freshly laid, concrete. No green ... no blues. Those colors will show up if the paint is reflecting something of those colors around it. I also noticed, the more you zoom in on a color, the more "true" it becomes ... if that helps. But if you're expecting some kind of color from this paint ... then you're in for a disappointment. If concrete, or grout, is your thing ... then you will be very satisfied!
Wow! I'm just seeing this post, but I wanted to tell you thanks for the in-depth analysis! Like others apparently, I too, thought it was a light greenish or bluish gray color. In some pictures that you have shown, it's just so flat and dull, but in others I see it completely differently. It was my go to color, but now I can't decide. Same! Saw a Sport with Cactus, and though the color is still grout gray, the reflection is still very light green. It actually looked pretty good and would be my color of choice seeing it on a "body" rather than a can.
